In the interior design world, “materials” can take on many forms and meanings — stone, wood, metal, rattan, grass, lacquer, mirror, leather, grass cloth, and paper to name a few. But, today, I want to dive into the ocean of fabrics, which is what you might think of first when you hear about the “materials” in a space. Keen understanding of and affinity for materials really brings a room together and creates a space that’s sophisticated, elegant, and completely swoon-worthy. There is absolutely no question that large spaces like living rooms and great rooms are GREAT. They’re GRAND, in fact. But here’s the honest truth: More square footage doesn’t mean it’s all smooth sailing and that the design is going to be a breeze. When we’re designing these retreats for our clients, our greatest hope is for them to feel like they’re experiencing their most favorite resort setting — all the time. Indeed, that forever-vacation inspo is our core focus. We take the best of resort relaxation, refinement, and luxury and marry it to a space that’s tailor-made for daily home use and enjoyment. To create a perfectly crave-worthy backyard oasis, first and foremost you must-must-must invite your designer outside to capitalize on their expertise, vision, and skillset. If a “pool house” is in the picture, this is the time to be super-intentional about this structure. There’s no reason why it shouldn’t be a continuation of the main house! We love to take cues from the architecture and aesthetic of a home’s exterior and interior and iterate those elements for the luxury outdoor living environment.? A soothing, organic-inspired palette is a must in a luxury outdoor living space because we’re balancing the impact of the surrounding earth, sky, and pool — all of which are delivering their own big color story! But that doesn’t mean you can’t integrate wisely dosed color, too. And when it comes to that swimming pool, it’s as much art and ambiance as it is pleasure and fun — so, we are all about making this body of water really sing, whether it’s being actively used or not. https://lnkd.in/eyGQ9t34
