The Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency, founded in 1979, was the first municipal risk pool in Illinois. IRMA is a risk sharing pool of 71 local municipalities and special service districts in northeastern Illinois, which have joined together to manage and fund their property/casualty/workers’ compensation claims. All members also participate in a comprehensive risk management program. IRMA has fulfilled its members’ goals of stabilizing future annual contribution rates, improving the quality of our risk management services, and offering one of the most comprehensive pool coverage programs that can be found anywhere for public entities

What a whirlwind! Chairing the Illinois City/County Management Association (ILCMA) Summer Conference Committee was a tremendous honor surpassed only by the privilege of becoming ILCMA #President. The past few days were filled with opportunities to connect with friends old and new, facilitating President/Executive Director small group listening sessions with our members along with Dawn S. Peters, useful and insightful discussions with ICMA - International City/County Management Association President Lon Pluckhahn, celebrating exceptional service to our profession and the accomplishments of #rockstar local government innovators in Illinois, and bringing home real success stories to share with my team here in the Village of Glencoe. It was nonstop, but so amazing! As I shared in my first remarks as President yesterday, along with our Board and membership, I’m looking forward to together building a stronger ILCMA that is supportive, welcoming, responsive and engaged. I couldn’t be more honored to take on this role. #ILCMAProud
