Congratulations to Interfaith staffer and Navy Veteran, Donald Gibson on his 10-year anniversary! As a resident coordinator, Donald is on-site daily, assisting veterans in their transition to independent living. Donald shares, “From my perspective of being a client and then becoming staff, Interfaith extends a hand of acceptance and the arms of warmth. I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t want that in their life.” Donald, your dedication to our veterans has made a profound impact. We’re grateful to have you as part of the Interfaith team! Fun fact: As a teen, Donald was often mistaken for someone older. Now, if you didn’t know him, you’d never guess his age!

"I come to Interfaith and I just see kindness. I just see people helping people.” Tim, a longtime Interfaith supporter and Escondido resident, shares his perspective from his role as a Client Intake volunteer, where he greets new clients, evaluates their needs, and offers resources. Watch the clip below to hear his experience. About one-third of Interfaith’s total funding comes from Federal grants and we are already feeling the effects of funds being frozen or halted in some of these programs. Interfaith is committed to maintaining each of our 75 critical, life-saving programs with no reduction in services. A concerned donor has stepped up to offer a $25,000 match challenge from now until March 31. Please support our commitment to continuing to provide the same level of service as we have for the past 45 years with a contribution today. This morning, Interfaith and 20 volunteers teamed up with Escondido Street Stewards, a local nonprofit who organizes group clean ups, to collect trash in the area around our Escondido headquarters. Leaders in action! Join us in celebrating Women's Herstory Month this March, a time to unite around their legacy and ongoing achievements. We are honored to spotlight the women of Interfaith throughout the month. With 63.7% of our team and 73.3% of our leadership positions held by women, Interfaith proudly stands as a female-led organization. Each day, they empower clients with resources, provide compassionate support, and work to meet the needs of our community.

Last week, 300 hygiene kits were assembled with love! We're grateful for community supporters like Love Esco and Daydream, who continually extend kindness to both Interfaith Community Services and our community! Daydream is still accepting hygiene supplies through 3/9 and is currently in need of deodorant and sunscreen. Items can be dropped off at 227 E Grand Ave, Escondido, during normal business hours.
