The potential delay in US Housing and Urban Development funding to shelters could be devastating news for communities across the country trying to address homelessness. In Montgomery County alone, homelessness has increased by 97% from 2022 to 2024. With HUD now planning to reduce staffing by 84% in the very office that distributes these funds, delays will be are inevitable. This seems intentional. If these crucial resources aren't distributed in a timely manner, this already serious crisis will only continue to worsen for vulnerable populations and the communities working to help them. #PovertyIsAPolicyChoice #Homelessness #AffordableHousing #ContinuumsOfCare https://lnkd.in/e3ib2hu7
