A huge thank you to the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation for their generous $10,000 Regional Joy Grant to support our Child Hunger Programs! Thanks to their partnership, we will be able to make a lasting impact by continuing to provide meals and support to children in our community. It's because of partners like Dunkin' that we can carry on our mission of delivering hope and nourishment to those who need it most. Together, we’re truly making a difference in the lives of our neighbors.?

We are thrilled to announce that the Culinary Apprenticeship Program, a collaboration between Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina, Inc., is officially accredited by the American Culinary Federation Educational Facility! This accreditation means our CAP students will now be able to earn continuing educational units upon completing the course. ? Ben Battle, Vice President of Culinary, said, “This is an excellent?opportunity for our program to help further the communities we serve with advocacy and advanced learning to further their goals with self-sustainability, pride, opportunities to improve their skills concerning culinary arts within the hospitality industry."

Join us for our next workshop, “Grow Big in Small Places!” In this workshop, "Grow Big in Small Places,” you will learn about the accessibility of container gardening and how to create your own. We will discuss choosing a spot, preparing containers, and selecting the right plants. This class takes place outside, so make sure to bring warm layers! This workshop is independent of our series and does not build upon other workshops. Hope to see you there!

At Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, we do whatever it takes to ensure no one goes without the food they need. With over 242,000 of our neighbors facing hunger in our service area — including 70,000 children — it’s time to take action. We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sysco for their generous support of our mission. Last Friday, their dedicated team came together to pack an incredible 17,000 meals, which will go directly to our neighbors. We are truly grateful for their time, effort, and commitment to making a difference in our community.

A huge thank you to SPC Mechanical Corporation for their incredible support through the Annual SPC Mechanical Charity Golf Tournament! We are honored to be one of the recipients of this year’s event, where an amazing $101,000 was raised to support four wonderful organizations. ? Thanks to their generosity, we will receive $25,250 for our BackPack Buddies program, which helps provide nutritious meals to children in need. We are truly grateful to be part of this community of giving, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact this donation will have on the families we serve. ? Last Monday, our Gardens For Everyone team hosted a Raised Garden Bed Workshop at Conetoe Family Life Center in Tarboro. 33 participants learned how to build a 4' x 8' x 20" raised garden bed through hands-on lessons covering safety guidelines, tool usage, materials, lumber selection, assembly instructions, and more. ? At the Food Shuttle, we believe that fighting hunger is about more than just putting food on the table—it's about empowering our communities with the tools and skills to grow their own food at home. We're grateful for the opportunity to help our neighbors build sustainable, home-grown food sources, contributing to a more food-secure and resilient future for all.
