Recruiting Grant Reviewers for SAMHSA The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is recruiting qualified grant reviewers to support its mission of advancing mental health, preventing substance misuse, and fostering recovery. The Division of Grant Review (DGR) is particularly interested in professionals meeting the requirements of the 21st Century CURES Act. Preferred Qualifications: - Medical degree, doctorate in psychology, or advanced degree in nursing or social work from an accredited program. - Active license with experience in prevention, diagnosis, treatment, or recovery of mental illness or co-occurring disorders. - Additionally, SAMHSA welcomes applicants meeting the general reviewer qualifications listed on the “How to Become a SAMHSA Reviewer” webpage. Reviewer Responsibilities: - Attend a mandatory pre-review teleconference. - Commit to a review period of approximately two weeks and participate in follow-up calls, if necessary. - Analyze grant applications based on established evaluation criteria. - Deliver clear, timely feedback and adhere to deadlines. Reviewers are compensated $180 per application reviewed.
