Hey All, Julie-here Lately, I’ve been feeling like my critical thinking skills are being tested nonstop. With the constant flood of breaking news mixed with so much “not-news,” it’s exhausting to sift through it all and figure out what deserves my attention versus what’s just noise. Honestly, trying to analyze and stay sharp every day feels like juggling a thousand things at once—or sometimes, I just want to shut my brain off. What’s been helping me through this is finding tools and strategies to calm the overwhelm. That’s why I found Jessica Yellin’s “Calm News” episode on the We Can Do Hard Things podcast so refreshing. Jessica is an award-winning journalist with an incredible track record. She dives into how we can manage the stress that comes from staying informed while calming our nervous systems. Her insights really made me pause and rethink how I approach the news. It’s not just about avoiding sensationalism—it’s about taking a trauma-informed approach to protect your well-being while staying informed. If you’re also navigating that fine line between staying engaged and staying sane, I encourage you to check out our latest blog. It highlights Jessica’s strategies and connects them to a thoughtful, trauma-informed framework for decision-making. You don’t have to choose between being informed and protecting your emotional health—there’s a better way to do both. We wrote about how you can use Jessica as your guide to trauma informed news consumpution using our trauma-informed indecision making framework in our latest newsletter. ??Read our latest newsletter at link in comments. I’d love to hear your thoughts! IMAGE ID in comments. #Leadership #CriticalThinking #MentalHealth
