?? (PI)ZZA DAY & MARCH BIRTHDAYS AT INTEGER! ???? At Integer Technologies LLC, we know our people are the heart of our innovation and the driving force behind our success. ???? So what better way to celebrate them than with Pi Day (which we, of course, turned into (PI)zza Day)! ???? This was the perfect chance to bring everyone together, enjoy some delicious pizza, and take a well-deserved break to appreciate the hardworking minds that make Integer thrive. ???? And, since we were already celebrating, we made sure to honor our March birthdays in style, ???? with ?? a custom-made cake designed to match a screenshot from the RoboNation RoboBoat event—a special touch for one of our talented engineers, William Ard, and his hard work in maritime autonomy! ??? We at integer know that at the end of the day, it’s not just about the work we do—it’s about the people behind it. And if there’s one thing we love, it’s making sure our team knows just how valued they are (especially when there’s pizza involved!) ?????? #PizzaDay #PiDay #March #Birthday #Engineering #Cake #Integer #Celebrate #Maritime #Autonomy #WeloveourTeam #MarchBirthdays #PIZZA

Let's talk manufacturing and digital engineering technology.

A recent memo to the White House from the Special Competitive Studies Project - SCSP outlines a strategy to reestablish U.S. leadership in #AdvancedManufacturing through targeted tech development, organizational reforms, and national policy intervention. The memo states that:? ?? By 2030, America’s share of global manufacturing output is projected to decline to just 11%.? ? Emerging technologies in the manufacturing sector have created an opportunity for the U.S. to take back some manufacturing advantage.? ? More manufacturing-related R&D funding is needed. ? I wholeheartedly agree with the memo’s call to increase manufacturing-related R&D funding. Manufacturing-related R&D today will continue to be critical for building the foundation of manufacturing capabilities tomorrow. This will, in turn, impact our ability to build and deliver mission-critical products for national #defense. We need to make sure we’re supporting the manufacturing industry that is vital to national security. ? The memo specifically cites the need to build factories of the future, i.e. “????????????????-??????????????, ???????????? ????????????????????, ?????? ???????????????? ??????????????????.” ? At Integer Technologies LLC, we’re proud to be streamlining design and manufacturing workflows, infusing new innovation into legacy technology to create these “smart” factories. ?Essentially, we’re working with ways to coordinate complex systems involving machines, computers, and humans to help give human and autonomous users a decision advantage. This is important in industries ranging from ship building to aerospace. ?We’re using modeling, simulation, and #DigitalEngineering to identify new ways to control and automate manufacturing processes like advanced composite production and metal additive manufacturing. ?Our digital engineering workflows allow manufacturers to be more agile in response to changing needs and conditions, and the factories become smarter by collecting and using data in new ways to improve product quality, throughput, and cost.? ? At Integer, we’re working on what we believe are critical components of the software-defined factories of the future that will be necessary for building surge capacity and quickly responding to changing defense needs.? ? Physics-based and first-principles modeling, along with simulation of production processes, helps inform manufacturing decisions to supplement AI/ML.? ? Hierarchical and system-level modeling and simulation tools allow engineers to work at multiple levels of fidelity and relate the fundamentals of processes to the overall dynamics of highly distributed and complex systems.? ? Distilling tech down into easy-to-use tools and decision-aids for manufacturing workers is probably the most overlooked challenge in this space. The best data, simulations, and #AI tools are meaningless if they can’t be deployed, understood, and used by large primes and small- and medium-sized manufacturers alike.? (Cont. in comments)

Vice President of Research at Integer Technologies

I’m ?????????????????? ?????????? to share the just released #EconomicImpact study that shows the positive effect Integer Technologies LLC Technologies is having on our communities and South Carolina’s economy. ? ?? ?????? ???????????????????? ???????? ?????? ????????????: ? ???????? ????????, ?????????????? ?????????????????? ?? $???? ?????????????? ???????????????? ???????????? ???? ?????????? ????????????????, ?????????????? ???? ???????????? #???????? ?????????????????? ?????? ???????????? ?????? ???????? ???? ?????? ??????????. ? ? ?????????????? ???? ???????????????? ????????-????????????, ????????-???????? ???????? ???? #????, #????????????????, #??????????????????????????????????????????, ?????? #???????????? ???????? ???????? ???????????? ???????? ???????????? ?????????????????? ???? ?????????? ????????????????. ? ? ??????, ???? ?????? ???????? ???????? ??????????, ????’???? ?????????????????? ???? ???????? ???? ???????????? ???????????? ???? $?????? ?????????????? ?????? ???????????? ?????? ???????? — ?????????????????? ???? ?? ???????????????????? ???????????? ???? $?????? ?????????????? ???? ?????????? ????????????????’?? ??????????????. ? These figures are a testament to the economic power of industry-academia collaborations and represent real opportunities for the people and communities around us. This growth is a direct result of our fantastic applied research partnerships ?? with prestigious South Carolina institutions like USC Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing and Benedict College. ? Together we’re bringing in research dollars to the schools, contributing to in-state talent retention that combats a South Carolina labor shortage, and growing the knowledge economy across the Midlands.?? ? My colleague Andrew Wunderlich, who’s highlighted in the report, is an inspiring example of this. Andrew is our Digital Twins and Controls Engineering Manager who leads Integer’s team on a joint research program with USC Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing to develop a predictive energy management system that offers high-speed decision aids to ship operators. ? Andrew first worked on the program with Integer as a USC graduate student before completing his Ph.D. in electrical engineering and immediately transitioning to a full-time role with us. A couple short years later, he’s leading the program — talk about an impressive career progression story! ? For me, the key takeaway from Andrew’s story and this economic impact report is how partnerships with local universities and the community fuel both Integer’s success and provide a uniquely powerful engine for economic development. ? We’re not just a cool tech company; we’re tightly meshed into the university ecosystems and communities where we operate. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, and even more excited about what’s to come. ? See comments for link to the full study!

  • Please join us in welcoming Caden F. as a Machine Learning Intern! Caden is a fourth year #SoftwareEngineer pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. In his role at Integer, Caden will be joining our Navy Power and Energy System (NPES) project team, a joint program with USC Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing that uses digital engineering to develop a predictive energy management system that offers high-speed decision aids to ship operators. Caden, based in our #ColaCity headquarters, will be focused on gathering and analyzing real-time and historical data on weather conditions and using predictive modeling and simulations to help create routes for ships. “I chose to work at Integer after hearing what a great sense of community the company has. So far, that statement has been 100 percent true and more. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. It’s very helpful getting such different points of view about how to approach a problem,” Caden said. He added: “I appreciate the challenge and the process behind software engineering. I consider it a lot like crocheting, where you slowly build something from nothing to something extraordinary.” Outside of work and school, Caden is enjoying putting his engineering knowledge to use as he learns the complex art of brewing his own coffee. He said brewing coffee involves several intricate processes and variables like water temperature and bean grind size that require an understanding of chemistry and engineering to achieve the perfect cup. #hiring #UUV #USV #DigitalEngineering #SoftwareEngineering
