We are so proud of Camilla for sharing her story last week as Pride at ITW celebrated #TransgenderAwarenessWeek. As a reminder, ITW offers many benefits to the LGBTQ+ community and received the #Equality100 Award from the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index in 2023. #ProudToBeITW
At ITW, we value the unique perspectives, experiences and ideas that make all of us better together. Grounded in our core values of Respect and Integrity, we celebrated #TransgenderAwarenessWeek last week with a virtual webinar held by Pride at ITW, where members and allies heard the personal story of an ITW colleague coming out as a transgender woman. Beginning with her own personal journey of transitioning and coming out to family, Camilla also shared about her positive experience coming out at ITW, where she received strong manager support, experienced our inclusive culture, and immediately felt the freedom to show up as her authentic self. To conclude the call, participants also learned about ITW's benefits offered to the transgender community, as well as the broader LGBTQ+ community, which helped ITW receive the #Equality100 Award from the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index in 2023. #ProudToBeITW

During a recent visit to Technische Hochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) in Germany, Instron Principal Scientist Dr. Peter Bailey provided advanced fracture mechanics training and applications advice to the built environment department. Retrofitted with new electronics, software and accessories, the existing 500kN Servohydraulic material testing system is now capable of leading the development of innovative materials used to improve the civil engineering design code.
