Reporting directly to the CEO, this person will be a crucial part of the Senior Management Team, supporting the delivery of our organisational strategy. The role includes oversight of human resources, finance, fundraising and business development, governance, compliance and IT and office administration. ??New data from engagements under the Net Zero Engagement Initiative (NZEI) shows significant developments, from company progress on target setting and emissions reductions to a growing number of investor signatories. More than half of focus companies companies made progress in quantifying the steps they have taken to reduce carbon emissions in the first reporting cycle. One in ten have either disclosed a transition plan for the first time or enhanced their disclosures to support existing plans. ??Read more: https://lnkd.in/ew5Jc76S ??What is NZEI? NZEI is an investor-led initiative aimed at helping IIGCC members align more of their individual investment portfolios with a net zero pathway – as set out by investor net zero commitments – through corporate engagement. It began with some 90 investors engaging with 107 companies in March 2023. We're excited to echo Chancellor Rt Hon Rachel Reeves'?announcement that IIGCC will serve as the secretariat for an 'Investor Capital Mobilisation Taskforce', made at the UK/EBRD roundtable on private capital mobilisation to EMDEs, last week. ?? The taskforce builds on an industry-led?report?to ministers containing recommendations for mobilising more institutional capital to EMDEs, bringing together public and private sector actors to implement those recommendations. ?? We're thrilled to have the support of the UK Government in setting up and launching the taskforce and look forward to pushing this work towards growth, climate and development - through links with other flagship initiatives, such as the Global Clean Power Alliance - as taskforce secretariat. ?? New paper published: Principles for developing sector decarbonisation roadmaps - the investor perspective. It sets out key principles for policymakers to help them develop sectoral pathways and policy frameworks to support decarbonisation targets, informed by investors. ?? Strengthened roadmaps can better support investor decision-making and investment processes, in line with individual strategies to manage climate-related risks and opportunities. The roadmaps can connect economy-wide emissions reduction targets and entity-level transition plans being developed by companies and financial institutions. ?? With the Clean Industrial Deal expected later this week, this is a clear opportunity for the EU to show leadership.
