In 2024, businesses in Kosovo had a total turnover of €21.3 billion ??, which is 5% more than in 2023 (€20.3 billion). The Prishtina region recorded the highest turnover, amounting to €13.2 billion or 62% of the total turnover.

In recent years, remittance inflows from the diaspora have increased consistently, despite economic crises in sending countries. However, in 2024, the total value of remittances remained nearly unchanged compared to 2023, while their share relative to GDP experienced a slight decline. Does this suggest that the maximum potential for remittances stands at approximately 1.3 billion euro?per year and that their share of GDP will return to previous levels of 11–12% in the coming years?

The US President's order for a temporary suspension of foreign aid for 90 days, affects around 18* active projects in Kosovo funded by USAID, which contribute significantly to our country's development. Some of these projects began before the pandemic, and most of them are implemented by American companies, with some smaller ones carried out by local organizations. The main beneficiaries include public institutions such as municipalities, ministries, independent agencies, universities, courts, as well as the media, the private sector, and civil society organizations. *Updated: The inphograhic now includes the Adapt Activity too.

Yesterday, GAP Institute held a roundtable discussion where it presented the findings of the report: “Governments' support to improving energy efficiency as a response to mitigating (future) energy shocks: Western Balkan 6” ?? The discussion focused on the challenges and developments in the energy efficiency sector across the Western Balkan states, with a special emphasis on Kosovo. The panel featured representatives from key public institutions involved in adopting and implementing energy efficiency measures, as well as monitoring the energy sector, joined by experts from other institutions and civil society organizations. ??
