Delighted to share the statement from the North American Forum (NAF) held in Ottawa, Canada on Nov. 20-22! Leaders from #Canada, #Mexico, and the #UnitedStates gathered to reaffirm the importance of trilateral cooperation amid evolving questions about our partnership's future. The Forum emphasized that the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (#USMCA) is a vital foundation for advancing our shared economic goals. As we move forward, our collective focus will be on fostering a coordinated approach that enhances prosperity, safeguards our economies from unfair competition, and builds one of the most dynamic trading blocs in the world. Together, we are committed to ensuring that trade agreements serve to improve lives and livelihoods for all citizens across North America. Our President Richard Kiy and Diplomatic Fellow Bridget Premont were part of these important discussions. ??Learn more about NAF: https://lnkd.in/g5hKfzgm Thomas Shannon Jaime Zabludovsky Goldy Hyder Richard Kiy Bridget Premont

We are happy to share a progress report published at #COP29 in Baku last Friday that emphasizes the adoption and implementation of sustainable and resilient strategies in port systems around the world, enabling ports to better anticipate, withstand, and recover from disruptions, which includes a case study prepared by the IOA. The report was prepared by #Resilience4Ports, led by the International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI) and supported by Arup, the #UN Climate Change High-Level Champions and Lloyd's Register Foundation. In our case study, we highlight successful measures and regulations in ports, states and countries throughout the Americas that help prevent water pollution from ships’ scrubbers wastewater—which contain heavy metals, worsen climate change through ocean acidification, and increase fuel consumption.
