Eleven University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business Students were recently awarded the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Internal Audit Academic Certificate. To earn the certificate, students successfully completed course work related to internal audit, fraud detection and prevention and information technology auditing. Each student also participated in a real-world internal audit with a private or public sector internal audit department. Earning the certificate means the students are prepared with the skills and knowledge needed to conduct basic internal audits immediately upon hire. They have also received the necessary fundamental knowledge needed to begin preparing for the Certified Internal Auditor? examination.
