ISI catalyzes systemic change in civil infrastructure, with the Envision sustainability framework as the vehicle.
关于我们
ISI advances sustainable civil infrastructure using Envision? — through education, training and third-party project verification. The Envision Sustainability Framework and rating system is deployed by people and projects throughout North America and internationally and is applicable to every type of civil infrastructure: water, transportation, energy, waste, land/environmental, and more. OUR HISTORY: Based in Washington, DC, ISI was established in 2010 by the three largest engineering associations — the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), and the American Public Works Association (APWA). ISI collaborated with the Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design to develop Envision.

Commitment to sustainability is rooted in action and today on #NationalRecyclingDay ?? we are reminded about the actions infrastructure projects can take — supported by having the right systems in place — to realize their recycling and waste reduction goals. ? The Materials subcategory in the Envision Sustainability Framework has guidance for recycled content materials, as well as operational and construction waste diversion. Many Envision-rated projects have successfully pursued these credits! The project known as IND Runway 5L-23R & Taxiway B Rehabilitation provided a great example of RA1.4 – Reduce Construction Waste for construction waste recycling. The project involved rehabilitation of the north runway (Runway 5L-23R) and a portion of Taxiway B?at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND). More than 99% of construction and demolition waste was recycled or reused on this Envision Verified-award winning project, exceeding the project-specific goal of 95% waste diversion. Recycled concrete accounted for over 99.2% of the recycled material. https://lnkd.in/gcz5VPs7 KERAMIDA Inc. Thank you again to everyone who helped to make this year's event such an overwhelming success – we truly can't do this without your support! ?? #ISIAnnualConference #sustainableinfrastructure #sustainabledevelopment #sustainablecommunities

??? Congratulations to the Eastern Regional Infrastructure Project of Gwinnett County, Georgia on receiving an Envision Silver award for sustainable infrastructure! ?? The project addressed critical community needs related to water, sewer, and trail infrastructure. To support ongoing and anticipated population growth in the eastern portion of Gwinnett County, this project was designed to expand water and sewer capacity to support economic development and growth in the area. It also created an extensive trail system and provided exceptional recreational amenities for its residents. The project was led by the County’s Departments of Water Resources and Community Services and provided much-needed infrastructure for the eastern portion of the County. The scope of work included: ? Replacement and upsizing of five miles of water mains to meet current and future demand. ? Installation of six miles of new gravity sewer interceptor, a 14 MGD wastewater pump station, and seven miles of parallel force mains to serve future population growth, expand sewer service, and decommission existing wastewater pump stations. ? Construction of a five-mile trail system along the Apalachee River and a new trailhead located adjacent to the new pump station. ??
