?? Today on World Water Day, we are proud to announce that the Northwest Water Reclamation Facility Improvements Project in St. Petersburg, Florida has earned an Envision Verified Award! ?? This facility provides essential wastewater and reclaimed water services for communities in?St. Petersburg, and this achievement highlights the City's dedication to advancing sustainable water management solutions that ensure continued reliable access to clean water for local residents. The City chose to use Envision as a guide for this project to validate its commitment to sustainability through the third-party Envision verification program and to serve as a benchmark for future projects. “The Envision Award is a respected milestone that reflects St. Pete’s dedication to integrating innovative solutions, prioritizing public health, and enhancing the city’s resilience against climate risks," said Maeven Rogers, Sustainability & Resilience Director for City of St. Petersburg. Today on #NationalRenewableEnergyDay we highlight Envision projects in the energy sector such as those in wind, solar, biogas, and geothermal and others that have helped moved civil infrastructure projects to less carbon-intensive sources of energy. In addition to energy projects, we take this opportunity to celebrate Envision projects in sectors like transportation, water and wastewater, and land/environmental that have emphasized renewable energy, particularly by using Envision Credit RA2.3 - Use Renewable Energy. ??Example project: The Wautoma Solar Project — one of a portfolio of projects supporting Alliant Energy’s transition to a more diverse energy mix.?Located in Wautoma, Wisconsin (Envision Platinum, 2024), this is a 99-megawatt solar array that spans approximately 721 acres. The company estimates the project will generate enough clean, low-cost energy to power approximately 25,000 homes and serve as a significant source of new local tax revenue for the town and the county.
