We had a terrific time at the Orlando Science Center this weekend for the 2025 Spark STEM Fest! The event was presented by the UCF's Office of Research. UCF's Institute of Simulation and Training brought presentations from the Mixed Emerging Technology Integration Lab(METIL) and E2i Creative Studio, providing immersive, hands-on exhibits for visitors to experience. METIL hosted the UCF STEM Aviation Showcase, where attendees were able to experience first-hand elements of careers in aviation, and E2i Creative Studio brought "Microchip Mayhem," a multi-player game where participants competed in a fast-paced challenge, piloting robotic workers in a simulated microchip factory. Join the team at the Institute for Simulation & Training's Advanced Research Computing Center as a Software Developer. This position will help operate high computing clusters including managing user accounts, installing software, performing user orientations, and maintaining system scheduling software.?The clusters run Linux and use Slurm for scheduling jobs; this position will use both to support researchers across the university to run research computing applications on the clusters.?The position will also co-supervise student assistants. The University of Central Florida has become an official member of the Digital Twin Consortium (DTC) and will serve as a regional branch organizer for the Southeast U.S. “With UCF having a digital twin initiative, I think it’s very important to be connected to the broader community,” says Soheil Sabri, an assistant professor in the digital twin initiative at UCF’s School of Modeling, Simulation and Training. “DTC has more than 200 members around the world.
