  • ?? In a new blog, Katie (Haejung) Kim, Ph.D., explores how employees can help challenge and manage corporate social irresponsibility (CSI), including environmental harm and workplace discrimination. By leveraging employee voice behavior, organizations can better address these issues and mitigate potential damage. Three Key Findings: 1?? Organizational Identification: Employees who identify strongly with their organization are more likely to recognize and act on irresponsible practices. 2?? Power Distance Dynamics: A lower power distance culture fosters an environment where employees feel empowered to speak up about issues like discrimination. 3?? Voice Behavior: Employees are more likely to engage in voice behavior when they view irresponsible actions as serious problems that need to be addressed. • ?? Just launched! The Institute for Public Relations and The Grossman Group published, “Employee Engagement in the Communications Industry,” a new report that uncovers what’s driving (and hurting) engagement for communicators. While 89% of communicators feel engaged, major gaps remain in career growth, workplace trust, and leadership communication. ? ?? Key Insights: ? Employees with strong, ethical leaders report higher engagement—but only 24% say leadership communicates a clear vision. ? Flexibility fuels engagement: Employees with scheduling flexibility are more likely to trust their employer. ? Unclear processes and rising workloads threaten long-term engagement, with 60% expecting workloads to increase. ? Organizations must act now to improve workplace culture.
