Honoring Native American Heritage Month: Janet McCloud (1934-2003) ?? Born on the Tulalip Reservation, Janet was a fierce advocate for Native American rights. Her activism began with the 1965 "fish-in" protests, where she fought for the right to hunt and fish, even being arrested alongside others. In 1985, Janet founded the Indigenous Women’s Network, empowering women to address critical social and economic challenges within Native communities. She also created the Sapa Dawn Center in 1989, a retreat for spiritual healing, cultural preservation, and self-sufficiency. ??
