  • Healthcare leadership gold, lighthearted, and illuminating. A New Podcast Episode is Live with @WendyLarzelere Senior Advisor in Talent Development at OhioHealth. Wendy shares the success in introducing the Kolb Experiential Learning Profile (KELP)?and Experiential Learning model to leaders at OhioHealth, a highly successful, growing healthcare organization in Ohio.??They recognize that leadership is more than technical expertise.?To truly lead, one must develop as a?whole, mature person—self-aware and intentional?in their interactions. The KELP has been transformative in supporting this approach. Why the KELP Stands Out ·??????KELP reveals how you operate—offering a full picture of your preferences and behaviors—and what you can add to your repertoire to become even more effective.?It’s a powerful shift. Once you see it,?you can’t unsee it. ???The KELP was first introduced by the?VP of Talent Management who recognized its unique value in leadership development. Like a spark that caught fire, KELP has spread organically across the organization—leaders are embracing it, teams are using it, and the demand keeps growing. When people truly understand how they learn and operate, they not only improve themselves but elevate those around them. Once they see it, they can’t unsee it. It's: ·???????Easy to grasp—a simple yet profound model that increases self-awareness immediately, and continues to reveal insights in any moment ·???????Unique in its approach of building self-awareness from wholistic perspective ·???????Lighthearted yet impactful- leaders have fun as they learn about EL, themselves, and others ·???????Introduces a common language and process for individuals and teams ·???????Action-oriented—awareness leads to real, applied change and choice ???One example: Nursing leaders understood their different approaches—some preferring a?"GO-GO-GO"?mindset, others needing?"SLOW-SLOW-SLOW"?time for reflection, getting more people involved. With KELP, they could openly discuss and align their approaches in a productive, open way.? ???Beyond self-awareness, OhioHealth has studied the ripple effect?that a leader has on general wellbeing of others. This provides clear evidence of the need for wholistic leader development. The KELP can help. ???The way you learn is the way you change.?Wendy and Kay discuss the ways in which the?KELP can be a?game-changer in change management. ? ???Listen in to hear more!?https://lnkd.in/dDE3DYus If you are interested in bringing the EL operating system benefits into your healthcare organization, please contact us at info@experientiallearninginstitute.org.??Our experienced facilitators Jean Johnson?and?Greg Pawlson will provide custom programs to address your unique needs.??Use?this link to discover some of the benefits. #LeadershipDevelopment #KELP #experientiallearning #HealthcareLeadership #SelfAwareness #ChangeManagement #TeamDevelopment #Coaching

  • Developing Leaders with Experiential Learning, the USNA-Way The mission of the Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership at the United States Naval Academy is to empower leaders to make courageous, ethical decisions. The Center, serving as a "beacon to the nation," influences key figures at the Academy and shares its lessons with leaders across the country. Celeste Raver, PhD, the Timothy and Susanne Sullivan Director of Influencer Development at the Stockdale Center, posed the question, “How can we scale experiential learning to help leaders intentionally learn from every experience?” This initiative aimed to expand the role of experiential learning at the Academy. Twelve prominent leaders at the U.S. Naval Academy engaged in an in-depth exploration of experiential learning, becoming champions of this approach and its expansion within the Academy. Their participation in the Custom Experiential Learning Certificate Program was instrumental in making it a remarkable success. These leaders will continue to enhance and integrate the Academy's experiential learning initiatives, influencing future leaders, learners, collaborators, and educators. As the Academy fosters leaders who intentionally learn from every experience, the benefits will be far-reaching.
