We had a great time at CAG Annual Conference this past weekend! Our Senior Program Manager, Nicole Endacott, and Program Coordinator, Courtney Politano, hosted a session on Reframing Challenges: Strategies for Working with 2e Students! This session helped to break down misconceptions about what a gifted learner looks like and arms classroom teachers with the resources they need to better support this population so that they can thrive and be seen for their gifts. Building community with grace ??? ? This past weekend, we hosted our current high school Caroline D. Bradley Scholars in Pasadena at our annual Bradley Seminar. Our scholars, parents and alumni explored the theme of Community: Impact Through Service through workshops, conversation, community service, and community building. ? In keeping with the theme, we assembled 200 Snack, Activity, and Laundry Kits for Ronald McDonald House Pasadena families so they can easily grab what they need while they’re focusing on the health of their child. CDB families donated the items and Scholars and Alumni packed the kits with encouraging notes before delivering them to Ronald McDonald House in Pasadena. ? Huge thanks to our keynote speaker?Collette Bowers Zinn?for your inspiring speech on building community from the self out and reminders to give ourselves and one another grace along the way. ? ? A big congratulations to Elizabeth D. Jones, IEA President Emeritus, Co-Founder and Senior Advisor, for receiving the Sarah D. Barder Service Award for her many years of service in founding and leading IEA and to the field of gifted education. ? ?
