The Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic has introduced the More Situational Awareness for Industrial Control Systems, or MOSAICS, a cybersecurity approach to safeguard the nation’s critical industrial control systems. Adopting MOSAICS across the United States Department of Defense?would give engineers detailed requirements for designing and building cyber systems for ICS. State and local communities are facing a rise in cyber threats from nation-state-linked and criminal threat groups, which in many cases are looking to undermine confidence in public institutions, according to a report by the Center for Internet Security's Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center.
