Renewing today’s Catholic schools by drawing on the Church’s tradition of education.
关于我们
The Institute for Catholic Liberal Education inspires and equips Catholic educators to renew today’s Catholic schools by drawing on the Church’s tradition of education, which frees teachers and students for the joyful pursuit of faith, wisdom, and virtue. The Institute proposes to fulfill its mission by: 1. Reflecting on Church teachings and historical approaches to guide today’s lived experience of education 2. Recovering and adapting the classical tradition of liberal education as embraced and developed by the Church 3. Supporting Catholic educators through conferences, teacher development programs, in-service workshops, consultation, and publications 4. Advancing this vision among schools, colleges, dioceses, and other individuals and institutions involved in Catholic education

“The school is stronger in its Catholic identity and its intellectual formation because of this priority. The Eucharist has to be the heart of the school, or the school has zero hope of forming true missionary disciples of Jesus Christ.” It's encouraging to see ICLE Premier Member, Assumption Catholic School outside of Denver, CO, institute Daily Mass in their community. It can be a logistical hurdle, but the graces received are well worth the challenge.

“We’ve transformed our curriculum. We’ve emboldened our staff. We’ve leaned into our identity as Catholics, and with it, we’ve seen growth... enrollment has increased by 35 percent since July 2023." It has been a great joy to work with St. Mary School in Delaware, OH, over the past couple of years. Thanks be to God for the openness and determination of these educators — it is bearing much fruit! https://lnkd.in/eBXrqexS

Learning should be an adventure aimed at discovering Truth — for both students and teachers alike! For an interesting conversation on Catholic pedagogy, check out Brett Salkeld, PhD.'s recent podcast featuring ICLE's Executive Director, Elisabeth Sullivan.
Convinced that every class in a Catholic school should be taught from a Catholic worldview? Need resources, ideas, staff buy-in, or just a place to start? #MakingEveryClassCatholic is what I do! Let's get started.
Episode 3 of The Making Every Class Catholic podcast dropped last night! One thing I was not able to address explicitly in Educating for Eternity was thinking about pedagogy from a Catholic point of view. Fortunately, my guest, Elisabeth Sullivan, Executive Director of Institute for Catholic Liberal Education, has done some great work in this area. Enjoy! #MakingEveryClassCatholic
