Moving together as a team is critical to success on and off the court! As you'll note in this short video, moving together with your partner will help create a strong defense and offense. I learned my lesson the hard way and am translating the lesson off the court by being mindful of coordinating my actions with teammates to be most effective. Pickleball for Parkinson's! My heart is overflowing with excitement and fulfillment! I loved coaching at CityPickle's "Pickleball for Parkinson's" program for individuals with Parkinson's as well as volunteers and allies. It's awesome to be able to bring together my passions for pickleball and DEI for something so purposeful. Having a close family member with Parkinson's makes experiences like these even more meaningful - particularly when your coachees with Parkinson's visibly improve their pickleball game and exude greater confidence as a result. Special shoutout to Terence Degnan, a fellow pickleball coach, who shared his own story of how pickleball has helped him reduce his symptoms by half. Super excited about my family’s partnership with MegaMinds! Over the past six months, we’ve been building 3D virtual experiences and games, which transport students to 26 different countries while helping them to embrace the A to Z behaviors for global citizenship and conscious inclusion.?(Yes, the same A to Z behaviors which we feature in our Pickleball Positive video series! ??) I’m especially proud of my own children for their active role in building such a fun and engaging offering for schools, which fosters community while also helping students to be their best selves! It's AANHPI Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month! Let's take time to get real and openly discuss mental health considerations and challenges for the AANHPI community. By supporting one another, we can tackle such challenges together. Thanks to Sharon Bailey, Angela Wang, Tabitha Ashura, and the Danaher Corporation for the opportunity to lead a meaningful session with 170+ employees to get real. During this session, we emphasized the importance of leveraging our identity as a superpower while discussing the challenges faced by the AANHPI community, including common sources of stress which impact mental health. As Sharon Bailey said, sharing stories and having real discussions help people "feel not so alone. It's empowering for people to know others are thinking/feeling the same things they are." Remember that YOU ARE NOT ALONE! The more we openly discuss our concerns, the more likely we are to effectively address them not just this month, but beyond.
