  • When assumptions remain unspoken, even the most well-intentioned efforts can fall short. By articulating our values and viewpoints, we not only hold ourselves accountable but also invite our partners to join us in this intentional practice. At Inspire to Change, we're kicking off the new year by (re)stating what we believe to be true. Alignment—the first "A" in ALAE—is about working in a way that is deeply rooted in and informed by our assumptions. In the "tree of alignment," this practice cultivates the soil for meaningful and transformative growth. ??? Curious about how making assumptions explicit can strengthen your work? • Exciting updates! Some of you may have noticed our new brand look launched earlier this year. It’s been such a freeing experience to lean further into what excites about the new look: color, dynamism, and nature. ??? Alongside this, we switched website platforms—and now, after some time, our changemaker profiles are officially live again! https://lnkd.in/dCb7gArz I’m incredibly proud of this work and so moved by the feedback we’ve received. Here’s one testimonial: “We used it in a changemaking fellowship that we ran this year (https://lnkd.in/gz8XF9DP). Participants found it really useful and enlightening. Many talked to me about how it helped them realize their particular skills are valuable and needed and said it helped demystify changemaking.” – David Bacon Curious about your changemaker roles? Take our assessment today! ?? We’re aiming to reach 500 participants so we can conduct a factor analysis and explore the statistical validity of this tool. Please help us spread the word! ?? #Changemaker #LeadershipDevelopment #InspireToChange #SocialImpact #PersonalGrowth #Changemaking #Transformation #NewBrand #CommunityLeadership

  • In a world where constant change is the norm, how do we engages individual strengths with collective purpose to spark meaningful transformation? After years of searching for tools to create this balance, I discovered The Togetherness Practice (TP)—a framework rooted in insights from over 170 conversations with changemakers worldwide. TP weaves together internal capacities, external conditions, and the relational field into a dynamic, actionable process for growth. The beauty of TP lies in its adaptability. Practices are designed to work in 90-second, 90-minute, 90-hour, 90-day, or even 90-year increments. Whether you're facilitating teams, analyzing group dynamics, or navigating complexity, TP offers tangible ways to help groups get unstuck and unlock new possibilities. As a facilitator, TP has become a go-to resource. As a researcher, I’ve seen it reveal the "special sauce" behind transformative shifts—explaining how trust, creativity, and collaboration emerge in ways that feel natural and sustainable. Curious about how TP can make a difference? Explore more in our blog: ?? https://lnkd.in/grADi_z7 A shout out to the creators: Vipin Thekk, Lauren Yarmuth, and Shaun McInerney #Leadership #Transformation #TogethernessPractice #SystemsChange #CollectiveGrowth

  • You know we're always talking about alignment at Inspire to Change because, seriously, misalignment is the root of so much exhaustion and angst. So when Libby Smith said, "For the past few years, I've been helping people align their beliefs with their actions. The misalignment is often a contributing factor to frustration, resentment, burnout," they were speaking my language. I had to repost! Libby Smith, Deven Wisner, and Tiffany Tovey (Smith) have just opened applications for their FREE pilot Community of Practice for higher education evaluators and assessment professionals who are feeling conflicted or stuck. If this resonates with you, I'd highly recommend checking out the application. Run, don't walk ??

I know this looks like one of those style magazine side-by-sides: “Who wore it better?” And I think we ALL know the answer is: Libby Smith wore the platinum blonde quiff better. Aside from our shared preference for IMPECCABLE hair, Libby and I (and Tiffany Tovey) share a lot of feelings and opinions about the current state of evaluation and assessment in higher education here in America. ?????????? Evaluation is heavy. Working in the institution is heavy. We want to help. We’ve just opened applications for our FREE pilot Community of Practice for higher education evaluators + assessment pros who are feeling conflicted or stuck. It will bring together 6-8 folks just like you - people working in higher education evaluation who are looking for something more and aren’t quite sure how to get there.. This community is designed to help you rediscover your passion for evaluation while giving you the tools and support you need to navigate conflicts between personal and institutional values. • At Inspire to Change, we believe in the transformative power of arts-based methods in evaluation. We’ve found these approaches invaluable for helping people surface emotions that don’t have words, connect beyond the constraints of language, and generate energy—and therefore capacity—for meaningful work. Our colleague Maya is leading the way in integrating the arts with evaluation in thoughtful, impactful, and innovative ways. This upcoming course, Arts-Based Methods for Evaluators: Beginner Online Course, is an incredible opportunity for anyone curious about incorporating creativity into their work. Whether you're just starting or looking to deepen your practice, this course offers a hands-on exploration of tools like collage to capture rich, qualitative data. Seats are filling up quickly, so be sure to check it out! #ArtsBasedMethods #Evaluation #ProgramEvaluation #QualitativeMethods #CreativeEvaluation

Evaluators know that collecting qualitative data with humans can get messy. People can contradict themselves, go on narrative side quests, forget the question halfway through a long-winded answer, and struggle to recall important details. Rather than fighting the people factor with rigid interview templates and open-text survey boxes, why not embrace it? Collage is a fabulous tool that embraces the mess while eliciting relevant data. When people can break down, build up, compare and contrast, transform, and subvert materials, evaluators can gain deeper insights into an experience, program, policy, or intervention. And, no one has to squish into a tidy tickbox. Want to learn more? Check out my newest blog post, which explores using collage to collect qualitative data in evaluation. Gain access to FREE content that includes a summary of how it works and when to use it, a step-by-step guide to get started, ethical considerations, and guidance for avoiding common mistakes. Plus, you'll see two of my own collages in there! https://lnkd.in/gTrDta9V Collage is also 1 of 4 arts-based methods I teach in my upcoming course -Arts-Based Methods for Evaluators: Beginner Online Course - in January 2025. Registration is already halfway full, so sign up soon! https://lnkd.in/e2cvSdwj Happy reading, #collage #artsbasedmethods #evaluation #programevaluation #qualitativemethods #methods #freeresource #freecontent #blog
