Great quote Bree! "Whatever you are, be a good one." attributed to Abraham Lincoln, conveys a powerful message about excellence, integrity, and self-mastery. While simple, it reflects a deep truth about personal responsibility and the pursuit of doing one’s best, regardless of position or status. ?? Key Meanings Behind the Quote: Commitment to Excellence – No matter your role in life—whether you’re a leader, worker, artist, or student—strive to be the best at it. Lincoln valued hard work and dedication, believing that success comes from how well you perform your duties, not just the title you hold. ?? Integrity and Character – This quote suggests that greatness isn’t just about ambition or power; it’s about being honorable in whatever you do. Whether you're in a high-ranking position or an everyday job, your character is defined by the effort and honesty you put into your work. ?? Self-Acceptance and Purpose – Rather than focusing on what you should be, Lincoln emphasizes how you should be. It encourages people to embrace their unique paths and give their best effort, rather than comparing themselves to others. ?? The Power of Small Acts – Lincoln himself rose from humble beginnings, and this quote aligns with his belief that small roles, when done well, contribute significantly to society. You don’t have to be famous or wealthy to make an impact—just doing your work well can be a contribution to something greater. ?? Resilience and Growth – It implies that regardless of circumstances, your attitude and dedication determine your success. If you face obstacles, the best response is to keep pushing forward and improving in your craft or calling. ?? Application in Life: If you’re a leader, lead with wisdom and fairness. If you’re a writer, write with passion and authenticity. If you’re an entrepreneur, build with vision and integrity. If you’re a parent, be present and nurturing. If you’re in any role, embrace it fully and strive for excellence. This timeless wisdom reminds us that success isn’t about a title—it’s about effort, intention, and the quality of our actions. How do you embody this in your own life and work? Drop a thought in the comments! ??

Vive Costa Rica ????! I’ve returned with both hope and great gratitude in my heart from the most amazing adventure in Costa Rica…playing, exploring, working and being in retreat in the Chirripo Mountains area near one of the oldest volcanos in the world. The biodiversity is palatable and it was a true joy to experience! ?? ???? Through traveling, experiencing a different culture and stepping away into retreat —new perspectives, insights, questions and frameworks emerged. I’d like to share a few of them with you in service that it might support you as you navigate leadership, decision-making, and the impact you are creating in your life. ????Mistakes Are Here to Teach Us What if every challenge was an invitation to learn? Shifting from resistance to curiosity opens new possibilities. ??Home is Where the Heart Is No matter where we are, presence is our anchor. How we show up in each moment shapes our reality. ???Influence Begins with Awareness How am I influencing the space around me? Am I leaving room for wisdom to surface—in myself and others? How much time am I taking in this conversation? ??Reframing the Narrative: To Me → For Me → Through Me "This is happening to me" → We feel like victims. "This is happening for me" → We see the opportunity. "This is happening through me" → We step into leadership. How are you framing your life right now? ??The Power of "Up Until Now..." This phrase can break the loop of limiting stories. Instead of: "I always struggle with..." Try: "Up until now, this was a challenge for me. Today, I’m open to exploring a new way forward." ??Gratitude First, Then Growth Start with gratitude and a focus on what is working. Then, with curiosity—not judgment—explore the gaps: "What isn’t working, and what is it here to teach me?" "How else can I be thinking about this?" ??♀?Presence Over Overthinking If you’re caught in the past—pain arises. If you’re lost in the future—fear/anxiety creeps in. If you’re present—you can access clarity and your next step. When your mind spirals, zoom out. Imagine the situation as a gift. What might it be showing you? ??Flow Over Force Put out what you want. Accept what comes. Work with the difference. And perhaps most importantly—don’t overcrowd your calendar ???. Leadership requires space. If there’s no room to think, there’s no room for wisdom and insights to emerge. Which of these resonates most with you? I’d love to hear your thoughts ?? below in the comments ????and please share this with someone you believe can benefit from these insights ???? With gratitude?? Conflict tends to happen when we’re stressed, defensive, or trying to control a situation. If emotions are running high, chances are both people are in a reactive state. The more upset we get, the harder it is to stay present and open. Fear fuels our reactions, making it easier to misinterpret others and harder to communicate clearly. Remedy: One key to resolving conflict is pausing and becoming aware of your state before reacting. If you notice yourself feeling defensive or emotional, take a breath and step back. Ask yourself: ***Am I reacting out of fear or trying to control the situation? ***What assumptions am I making about the other person? ***How can I respond with curiosity instead of defensiveness? When you shift from reacting to observing, you create space for a more constructive, open conversation. The goal is to move back toward calm and presence—because from there, understanding and resolution become possible. ?? Have you ever caught yourself reacting instead of responding in a conflict? What helped you shift your mindset? Would love you to contribute to this conversation below with your thoughts/comments?? ?? #EmotionalIntelligence #ConflictResolution #MindfulLeadership

When was the last time you truly prioritized?you? As leaders, we often focus on others—our teams, families, and communities—leaving little space for self-care. It’s easy to push it aside, believing there’s “no time” or that it’s a luxury we can’t afford. But here’s the truth: skipping self-care doesn’t just diminish?you—it impacts everyone around you. The science is clear:?self-care isn’t indulgent; it’s strategic.?It fuels clarity, creativity, and resilience. Without it, burnout creeps in, and our capacity to lead effectively diminishes. Here are three simple, powerful self-care reminders: ***Pause to Reflect: Even five minutes of journaling or deep breathing shifts your energy. ***Move with Intention: A quick walk outside can reset your mood and focus. ***Nourish, Don’t Deplete: Whether it’s the food you consume, the thoughts you entertain or the people you spend time with, choose what energizes you. These small, consistent actions create the foundation for peak performance and happiness.?You deserve to feel vibrant, focused, and aligned—and it starts with committing to?you. Let this be your gentle nudge to reflect: What’s one self-care practice you’ll prioritize this week? Comment below ?? and share with someone who needs this today ?? ! With gratitude and purpose! Would you agree that committing to being just a little better today than yesterday empowers you to elevate your efforts in intentionally creating an extraordinary, purpose-driven life? This simple yet powerful choice has brought a renewed sense of freedom and momentum to my own journey. A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of dining with two inspiring CEO's. They shared stories of navigating personal and professional challenges—from market downturns to moments of deep self-doubt. What stood out was their unwavering commitment to their values and their ability to pivot toward opportunities, even in adversity. As we discussed building lives and businesses aligned with purpose, these insights emerged: "Live every day as if it were your last." "Maintain custody of your attention." "Lead with gratitude." "Invest in yourself and extend kindness to others." How can you apply these values based principles to make meaningful progress today? Small, deliberate shifts in mindset and action lead to extraordinary outcomes. I’m certain that if I can make these 2mm shifts, so can you. What will be your 1% improvement today? That choice could change the trajectory of your life. Fulfillment is limitless—when you give yourself permission to pursue it. So, just go for it! Be wise, be kind, be you. Early in my career, I had the honor of working for James A. Abrahamson—Chairman of the Board at Oracle, U.S. Air Force General, former Associate Director of NASA, the first Director of the Strategic Defense Initiative ('Star Wars' program), and a member of the staff of the National Aeronautics and Space Council in the Executive Office of the President of the United States. One of the most impactful lessons I learned from him was his unwavering ability to treat everyone equally. Whether he was speaking with entry-level staff or CEOs of major corporations, he showed the same respect, values, character, and quality of listening. This lesson has stayed with me, shaping how I approach leadership and relationships to this day. Thank you, General James A. Abrahamson, for the legacy you left in me. Sometimes the path you’re “supposed” to follow isn’t the one meant for you. I once had what looked like the perfect job—secure, stable, and impressive on paper. But deep down, I knew it wasn’t right for me. I felt stuck, confused, and terrified of disappointing others. ???? Here’s what changed everything: a conversation with my dad. He reminded me that life isn’t about chasing security; it’s about finding what lights you up and trusting that everything else will fall into place. ???? The real risk isn’t walking away from what doesn’t feel right—it’s staying stuck and never discovering what could be. ?

Yesterday, our nation paid tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a beacon of purpose and transformation. Reflecting on his legacy amidst current reactivity and division is profound. Dr. King's life teaches us that challenges are invitations for personal and global transformation. An 86-year-old mentor shares, "Finding and living your purpose helps navigate life's distractions." Purpose acts as a guiding light, allowing us to move through chaos with intention. Aligning with our purpose turns triggering moments into growth opportunities, mirroring Dr. King's journey of converting struggles into a movement fueled by unconditional love. Dr. King's words resonate: "The true measure of a person is seen in times of challenge, not comfort. Inner transformation empowers us to combat worldly evils with humility and love." He advocated loving enemies not sentimentally, but as a radical force for unity and understanding, for "only love can conquer hate and darkness." As we honor his legacy, let's convert triggers into transformation, anchored in unconditional love that builds bridges and fosters unity. How will you define or realign with your purpose in 2025? How can your purpose shape challenges into avenues for growth, love, and meaningful impact? Share your thoughts below ?? With gratitude and purpose!
