  • If you are facing a life transition -- big or small -- this is for YOU! ??Empty nesting ??"Sandwich Generation" caring for aging parents, while still your own kids ??Peri-menopause or Menopause (or other changes in your body and health) ??Changes in your marriage ?? Retirement ?? Family loss No matter what the change of season of life, transitions can be tough. Life transitions can also be transformative. Transitions are bring an invitation. An invitation to write your next chapter. Shout out loud and celebrate who you are, feel comfortable in your own skin and thrive. Aimee Kackley is a therapist who specializes in helping women through transitions. Here are her TOP 2 Tools for women going through a transition: 1. Daily Gratitude Lists are a foundation for self-care. Through noticing and writing down at least one thing we're grateful for, we start to train our brains to see the positive things-- outside and inside ourselves. Plus, this tool can be a comfort and encouragement on days we struggle, as we can reflect and review things we've been grateful for in the past. 2. The practice of "yes, and." This is a foundational Improv game where a person begins learns to respond "yes, and" to another person's commentary. No matter what the other person says--(even if it's incorrect!)--instead of saying "no" or focusing on correcting the other person, when we say "Yes, and..." it is a positive way to playfully build on what the other person is saying and we begin to pivot towards possibilities and find a trust in ourselves to achieve tangible and inner goals. If you'd like some one-on-one support through any of your life transitions, Aimee is accepting new clients and books quickly. She would love to help you answer life's question: "Who Am I, NOW?" Call or text (847) 919-9096 or [email protected] to schedule today!

  • As SNL celebrates its' 50th season, it's easy to see why this iconic show has lasted through five decades. Sometimes we think of the hilarious skits as light-hearted entertainment. The truth is that laughter is a powerful tool that can significantly improve your mental health, physical health and your relationships. Laughter is often described as the best medicine, and this saying holds more truth than you might expect. Numerous studies have shown that laughter impacts mental and physical health--giving scientific evidence to support the age-old belief in laughter's healing power. Laughter has been shown to: ??significantly improve mood through neurochemical changes ??increase levels of anti-infection antibodies, bolstering the immune response ?? increase the release of endorphins, enhancing social bonds ??improve blood vessel function and increase blood flow, reducing the risk of heart disease and promoting a sense of well-being. At Inspire, we take laughter very seriously. ?? We believe laughter is a healing part of therapy. We know life can be difficult. We know therapy can feel scary. Laughing at and through some of life's challenges can be therapeutic and beneficial for your overall health and life. Incorporating more laughter into your life (and therapy!) can give you a happier and healthier existence. Don't just take our word for it....the science speaks for itself! • With Valentine's Day around the corner, there's a lot of focus on romance and relationships. But, as part of the conversation, we need to talk about women’s sexual desire, intimacy struggles and relationship stress. Inspire therapist and clinical intern, Margot, studied at University of California (Cal Berkley) and Northwestern University in her quest to become a clinical therapist. She boldly and bravely loves supporting women struggling with sexual problems, such as a lack of desire or inhibition. Margot knows how confusing, disorienting, and deeply lonely sexual issues and relationships stress can feel. Many women feel a silent, quiet but powerful pain, amplified by a world that rarely gives women the space to voice their struggles with sexuality without judgment or dismissal. She also knows it’s not uncommon to feel invisible. These challenges are often tangled in layers of cultural expectations that limit female sexuality, leaving women feeling restricted, guilty, or ashamed for simply trying to understand themselves. Trauma, abuse, or life’s unpredictable turns can add even more weight, creating a silence that becomes harder to break over time. The lack of safe spaces to explore these emotions and the absence of proper resources only deepen the wound. Margot speaks to this not just as a professional but as a woman who has walked this path. She knows the quiet ache of disconnection, the frustration of not understanding your own needs, and the isolation of being unable to explain these feelings to others. She discovered that healing begins when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable in spaces where empathy and acceptance are abundant. Counseling gave her that space—a refuge where she began to understand herself, uncover her strengths, and slowly rewrite her narrative. Margo learned growth is not a leap but a series of small, courageous steps. Today, she is honored to create that same safe and compassionate space for her clients, where they can reclaim their voice, reconnect with themselves, and discover a path toward freedom and fulfillment. If you would like to support, we understand and are one quick call away. Call or text (847) 919-9096.

  • The extraordinary (and short-lived) TikTok blackout stunned 170 million Americans. With the looming potential of another TikTok ban, there's an underlying anxiety has been stirred up, leading to what we’re calling “TikTok-Ban Anxiety.” No matter how you feel about TikTok, Social Media is, was, and likely will, always be a hot topic. For parents, this is a GREAT opportunity to check-in with your kid about social media. Also, when talking about social media, remember kids do best in relationship with their parents. ??“Rules Without Relationship Lead to REBELLION.”?? The relationship you have with your child is the strongest hope you have to empower them in making good choices. Working in the psychology field, I am a big fan of sharing SCIENCE and FACTS without much of our own opinions, so kids can form their own conclusions and be an active part of their positive choices. Here are some facts you can share to empower your kids with social media. ??Because social media is so new to humans, we don’t have long-term studies to tell us what it will do to our brain, body or life. ??During adolescent years, the brain goest through major changes that impact your adult life ??Dopamine is an important chemical in our brains that makes us feel happy. We have a limited amount. ??Dopamine is supposed to be released in small amounts. ??Social media can cause large amounts of dopamine to be released all at once, just like heroin, or meth, or alcohol. ??When we release all our dopamine at once, we can run out and it's harder for regular things to make us happy, like hanging out with friends, baking, walking outside, talking to family, exercising, etc. ??When we deplete our dopamine regularly, it becomes harder for us to feel excitement and happiness. Everything can feel boring. Remember, while the landscape of social media is daunting, any small positive steps can make a difference. If you need support with Social Media addiction or talking with your kids. Our trained therapists are here to help! Call or TEXT (847) 919-9096.
