Three years after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine the context is shifting. But one thing remains unchanged: humanitarians continue to stand with those in need, despite growing challenges. In the complex landscapes where humanitarians operate, timely and accurate information is paramount. The Conflict & Humanitarian Data Centre (CHDC), developed by INSO, serves as a centralised repository of security incidents, offering invaluable data to humanitarian organisations worldwide. ??Key Features of CHDC: Comprehensive Data Collection: CHDC compiles detailed records of security incidents, including those affecting NGOs, enabling users to analyse data through a wide range of filters. Advanced Analytical Tools: Users can create detailed charts and maps, directly within CHDC, facilitating a deeper understanding of security dynamics. Humanitarian-Led Approach: CHDC is built by humanitarians, for humanitarians—ensuring that its security insights, analysis, and support services are grounded in the real needs and challenges faced by those working on the frontlines of crisis response. ??Benefits for Humanitarians: Enhanced Safety: By accessing up-to-date security information, aid workers can make informed decisions to navigate high-risk environments safely. Informed Planning: Organisations can utilise CHDC data to assess risks, plan interventions, and allocate resources effectively. Policy Development: Reliable data from CHDC supports evidence-based policy-making, contributing to improved humanitarian responses. Access to CHDC is available to all INSO registered partners. If you're not registered, explore how INSO can support your mission at NGOsafety.org/our-services. Stay informed, stay safe, and let data guide your humanitarian efforts with CHDC https://lnkd.in/esu87MtT

Earlier this month, our Director of Policy, Advocacy, and Communications had the opportunity to present to students from the WU Vienna Master of Science in Social Innovation & Management. The visit was a great success, sparking insightful discussions on aid worker safety and the critical role INSO plays in improving humanitarian safety and access. Engaging with the next generation of social innovators is always an enriching experience, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to share knowledge and perspectives on protecting those who deliver aid in complex environments. A big thank you to The Hague Humanity Hub for hosting us – we look forward to continuing these important conversations!

Dynamics are changing in the Middle East. Last week our analysis team hosted a webinar for our global humanitarian partners, joined by our country directors in Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon, looking at the impact of the Gaza war on the region. In parallel our Regional Director for the Middle East presented at a roundtable hosted by KUNO on Humanitarian Action in Syria. The discussion was extremely engaging and well attended, thank you to Kuno for the opportunity to participate!
