Community matters. Christophe O. is one of the people in the Tobiko open-source community who make a HUGE difference. Christophe flew from France to join us at the inaugural GROUP BY conference in San Francisco! It was a pleasure to award him and the other winners the Tobiko Community Award! This group of Data Engineers has done so much to support SQLMesh and grow the Tobiko community through conversations, open-source project contributions, and writing about it online. Thank you Christophe! If you want to join the RADDEST data community, check out the SQLMesh Slack ??https://lnkd.in/g9KTEYkq

Big News! Tobiko SQLMesh-Based Cloud is now GA ?? (with a fresh new website to match!) This extends SQLMesh with enterprise features: ? SSO ? RBAC ? Scheduler ? Alerts ? Debugger ? Warehouse Cost Tracking ? Advanced Change Categorization ? Cross-Database Diffing!!! (This might be my favorite) ? Cloud-only or Hybrid Deployment Quote from Tobias (Toby) on the launch “With Tobiko Cloud, we can have an understanding of who the users are, and so we can do things like role-based access control and other things for security and for data deployments, where you don’t want to necessarily have to give your developer access to your entire warehouse,”. Don't worry; we are still driving the development of open-source SQLMesh. Iaroslav Zeigerman will make sure of that ?? Let's GO! ?? Want to join the fun? Which is better - Enterprise or Startup? Don't join until you read this! Enterprises provide structure, support, and guardrails. You are limited in what you can do, and how much experimentation they allow. You need to play office politics to move up or get a project approved. Pressure is typically lower. Job security is generally better (but these days...who knows). Startups provide little structure and minimal support They give you the freedom to work on many things that you would never get to in a larger company. Communication is tight in a small company. You move fast. Pressure is high, but so are the rewards. Everyone gives 110%, and it's very obvious if you are holding back. I am thrilled to be at Tobiko. The talent is incredible. The product is disruptive. The SQLMesh community is ?? Which type of company do you work for? ?? like and repost!

95% of analysts ignore window functions - but they’re a game-changer. Here’s 3 ways pro analysts use them: 1) RANK() to flag top performers without subqueries 2) LAG() to track trends row-by-row 3) SUM() OVER for instant running totals. One query with these cut my report time by 40%. Stop sleeping on them! Ready to learn?
