On November 20th, we held our pre-kick-off online meeting, marking the start of the STEM Sports Education project, funded by Erasmus+! ?? This innovative project aims to combine STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with Sports to create engaging learning opportunities for secondary school students, especially girls. By integrating these fields, the project aims to boost critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills while promoting physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. ?? Project Objectives: 1. Increase accessibility to STEM topics for students aged 12–15, emphasizing girls' participation. 2. Develop key STEM skills using sports as a practical, real-life context. 3. Equip educators with tools to promote interdisciplinary learning and inclusion. 4. Share best practices across Europe for integrating STEM and sports education. ?? Key Activities: 1. Development of a STEM Sports Learning Toolkit with non-formal activities. 2. Creation of a Training Program for Educators in STEM Sports. 3. Field research and focus groups to localize and innovate approaches. 4. Dissemination of resources to foster sustainability and widespread impact. ?? On November 20th, we held our pre-kickoff online meeting, marking the start of our journey to transform education by merging Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) through creative and inclusive methodologies. This sets the stage for our kickoff meeting in Malta this January 2025—stay tuned! Learning STEAM Through Performing Arts aims to revolutionize education by integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) into school curricula through innovative, creative, and inclusive approaches. By combining theatre and arts with STEM education, we are shaping the future of learning across Europe! ?? Key Activities: 1. Developing the STEAM IDEAS’ Square, a dynamic learning hub blending arts and science. 2. Creating teacher training programs to promote creative, student-led learning. 3. Implementing and refining STEAM activities in schools, including theatrical performances based on scientific concepts. 4. The 2nd Transnational Partners Meeting for the Ikigai55 project has been successfully completed! The meeting took place between the 13th and 14th of November 2024, at the beautiful city of Cascais in Portugal, organised and hosted by our partner Wepeople. During the meeting, we had the opportunity to discuss in detail: ??the project progress, ??the finalization of our first key deliverables, namely, the Fitness2.0 Knowledge Base & Guide for Trainers (D2.2) and the Smart Motivation Handbook & Toolkit (D2.3), ??the progress of the Online learning platform, and ??our forthcoming activities for WP3 ‘Establishing fitness communities and implementing piloting activities’ Social but also some fitness activities were not missed of course! We successfully concluded the Train-the-Trainers seminar part of IPR-A project on November 11th at UCLan Cyprus, bringing together 6 academic instructors to expand their skills on intellectual property rights for athletes. Empowering young female athletes: The equal play project ?? We are excited to announce the launch of our new project, ‘Equal Play: Breaking the Basketball Glass Ceiling’ in collaboration with: - Ayuntamiento De Pedreguer (Spain), - Spor Elcileri Dernegi (Turkey), - Udruga Za Promicanje Aktivnog Gradanstva – Echo (Croatia), - Associacao Desportiva Cultural E Social De Carvalhais (Portugal), - Kosarkaski Klub "Akademija Andja Jelavic" Sibenik (Croatia), - Inquirium Ltd (Cyprus) Together, we aim to empower young female basketball players aged 14-16 across 5 Mediterranean countries. Running Together: Promoting Solidarity across Borders through International Running Events We're excited to announce the kick off of the "Running Together" project! ??♂ This exciting project, in collaboration with partners from Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, and Bulgaria, aims to foster peace and understanding in the Eastern Mediterranean region. By organizing international running events and workshops, we hope to bridge cultural divides and promote unity through sport.
