The last month has been an incredible whirlwind of events. It was so intense that I couldn't post about most of them individually, so I went back and put them all together in a single video summary.
We kicked off with Edge of Now, a fantastic event organized by Kevin Dunlap and Jason Schoettler from Calibrate Ventures that attracted top tier speakers and participants such as Rodney Brooks and Leila Takayama from Robust.AI
As part of our community engagement, we hosted at the Robot Space a Lean In circle on International Women in Robotics Day and participated in some great events during #TechWeekSF -- thanks Tiq Chapa and Laura Lucas from L'ATTITUDE VENTURES for organizing and Nico Berardi for stopping by.
Then it was time to host RobOpsCon 2024, the leading conference for robot operations professionals by the Robot Operations Group. My co-organizer Joe Wieciek and I have been building this amazing community over the years. It was great to see and learn from automation leaders like James Lawton, industry experts like Spencer Krause, and practitioners like Saman Farid, Kevin Leiter and Kavitha Velusamy.
Then I was off to an event by our new partner Globant at their amazing space in the Intuit Dome, home to the LA Clippers. I then went back to the Bay Area for RoboBusiness, a major robotics event with an awesome team including Steve Crowe, Eugene Demaitre and Mike Oitzman. I got to hang out with friends from near and far, such as Christian Fritz, Ricardo Petrazzini and Aldus von der Burg.
After a long day of shooting with a film crew, it was time for the Ai Summit. Speakers included Christian Bersch and Denis Azarov. Then I went to a reunion for alumni entrepreneurs from the UC Launch program at University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. Go ??
I almost missed Halloween, but was able to pull off a respectable Chucky and Bride of Chucky. Then all too soon it was time for another TechCrunch Disrupt. I had a great chat with Darryl Keeton, a fellow founder from the Google for Startups cohort, and saw several Startup Battlefield presentations, including the winning one by Valentina Agudelo Vargas from Salva Health.
But wait, there's more: I got to hang out with Camp Peavy, who made a surprise in-person appearance at this month's Homebrew Robotics Club event at the Robot Space, and Ian Bernstein ????? who is working on a great robot for makers.
To cap off an amazing few weeks, I attended the opening of the Stanford University Robotics Center. Great discussions with participants like Brad Porter, founder/CEO at Cobot - Collaborative Robotics, Inc and Sergey Levine, professor at University of California, Berkeley amongst many others. Congrats Steve Cousins and Oussama Khatib on launching a fantastic space for robotics innovation in Silicon Valley.
All these events took place in California, cementing the West Coast as a leader in the next wave of AI and robotics.
