#Dataclarity remains one of the healthcare industry's greatest barriers to improving public health outcomes. Cancer registries are a great example. When armed with accurate, complete data, these organizations hold tremendous potential for getting ahead of #healthdisparities in cancer care. My latest article, which appears as the cover story in the latest issue of For the Record, explores this issue and how the industry can improve the outlook. Many thanks to Abbi Klowak, Taneal D. Carter, MS, MPA, National Cancer Institute (NCI), and the American Association for Cancer Research for contributions! Notably, improving cancer care for vulnerable populations is part of Innsena's mission. To learn more, check out the company's partnership with CancerX last year - https://tin.al/FfxTg1 https://tin.al/404oqh

Is HIMSS back?!?? PTSD from HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition's abysmal response to COVID seems to have worn off. 5 notable winners and losers from this year: 1.??Winner: All of us.??? Pretty sure everyone has picked their team in the ongoing ViVE v HIMSS saga that no one cares about, and now we can all move on with our lives. HIMSS remains the monster with more buyer and partner diversity. VIVE wins with CIOs and investors. 2.? Loser: Sales + marketing early adopters. ?? Both VIVE and HIMSS are failing to reach any value with shiny (and expensive) new add-ons like speed dating. Save your money, none of these people are going to buy and faking a warm lead is dumb. There are so many better ways of getting in front of your buyer. 3.??Loser: Systems newcomers.??? Met 7 health system execs brand new to HIMSS. While the pool is small, the similarity in feedback seems worth considering. All shared it 1) required too much pre-prep or 2) was too overwhelming. All agreed the parties are A+, but several wished they were given more info on the sponsor or got to meet an exec from the co (they were blind invited due to titles). Most said they’ll skip and do smaller shows next year. One asked why there’s no free food. 4.??Winner: Puppies.??? What was up with the sky-bridge division of show floor? Don’t get me wrong, appreciate the 3 minutes of breathing non circulated air, but legitimately I only bothered to visit the reject side for the puppies. Turns out there were some legit companies over there I imagine many people missed. 5.??Winner: Interesting people.??? Obviously, the best event was our Innsena black-tie masquerade party. As Simon Sinek said recently, real community shares more than a common interest - that just gets you in the room. We share deep values that go beyond political views and personal differences. It was a refreshing room of folks who have and will continue to shape our industry for the better.?Thanks for coming. ?? BEST OF HIMSS award goes to Joe Mercado, who baked his own cookie mask (below). I dared him to make his mask out of sugar (for anyone who doesn't know, he's the world's best baker) and HE SHOWED UP. #himss25 #HITconference #healthtech #digitalhealth

One of our favorite aspects of #HIMSS25 is seeing our clients share their thought leadership around healthcare and health tech with healthcare media and attendees. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at our clients in action. Great conversations happening on the expo floor and in hallways, lobbies, lounges and more! My speech for our #HIMSS25 Interesting Person Party went something like this: The outsiders are insiders. People who you thought were nobodies are somebodies. Your titles don't matter anymore. What someone was able to do over the past four years won't matter for the next four. What matters is how you're able to adapt to the new world, and not just survive, but thrive. So tonight, our theme is "what could have been, and what could be." Keep your masks on and focus on what makes you interesting and tell us what other path you could have taken (and maybe still could). And remember, anyone who tells you they know anything knows nothing. Thanks to all of you who committed and packed those tuxes and gowns -- and all of the masks. --------------------- Interesting Person Parties have rules and we enforce them. They change a little every time, but for the most part: YOU MUST BE ON TIME. (we will remove late attendees from future events who did not experience an act of god as rationale for their delay) Don't be a rube. Dress code for this one was black tie and masks You can't order your own drink You have to eat something Curated invitee lists, no +1s and RSVPs are required The point is to get interesting humans in our industry together who would otherwise not have spent time together. While attendees are typically executives, the focus is on building actual relationships. We're very philanthropically minded at Innsena, and in addition to what we donate, we do consider these parties a public service where amazing initiatives start and build. While Connecticut was one of the last states to launch a statewide health data exchange, the HIE network, Connie, has grown rapidly, adding 1,078 new locations over a 12-month period.
