Innovista Health values its many community partnerships, including the Dallas Independent School District (DISD), which we have worked with for several years. During the COVID pandemic, DISD helped many of our patients who had trouble accessing affordable day care, providing in-house programs for children who met their age guidelines. This allowed parents to get back to work without worrying about childcare. ? Last Friday, March 7 at the Ida B. Wells Montessori Academy, the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas celebrated its Centennial Reading Day, an event that fosters early literacy in north Texas. This collaboration was sponsored by DISD among others, and our very own Dr. Maudia L. Gentry, Ed.D, MA,BSW, CHW-Instructor, HS-BCP was thrilled to take part in the event and represent Innovista Health. ? #UnitedWayDallas #ReadingDay2025

Last Friday, Innovista Medical Center was proud to take part in the State of African American Health Summit in Houston, an event focused on the health of the Black community and building a better future for younger generations. Many area leaders, healthcare systems, and community- and faith-based organizations gathered, united in the mission of addressing health disparities and improving outcomes in Houston and beyond. Thanks to Wisdom Stamper and Andy Gamez for representing Innovista and connecting with all the organizations and people who stopped by our table. #valuebasedcare #healthdisparities #healthcare

As February comes to a close, so does National Cancer Prevention Month. The goal of this observance is to raise awareness about cancer prevention and encourage regular screenings. Primary care providers, especially those rooted in a value-based care model, play a critical role in ensuring patients get cancer screenings in a timely manner. They're the first line of defense against cancer, and at Innovista Medical Center we are proud to make screenings as accessible and easy as possible, teaming up with organizations like The Rose, nonprofit breast health organization and Cologuard? HCP. Read more about how Innovista Medical Center supports cancer prevention efforts: https://lnkd.in/eHXsCMps

Becker's Healthcare just released 15 trends and challenges that are defining healthcare today. One of the biggest takeaways: There are simply not enough healthcare providers to take care of us. This affects not only quality of care but access too. It's a big problem, and one that value-based care aims to fix. Offering a care model that emphasizes quality over volume can lead to greater satisfaction and sense of purpose for those in healthcare, making medicine a more attractive career. What are your thoughts on this list? #healthcaretrends #healthcare #valuebasedcare

Roughly 600,000 people in the US get diagnosed with heart disease each year, and 9% of Texans have some form of cardiovascular disease. February is American Heart Month, a time to raise awareness about cardiovascular diseases and what we can do to prevent them. At our Innovista Medical Center clinics in Dallas and Houston, our teams set up tables to educate patients on risk factors like hypertension, high cholesterol, and diabetes. Using a value-based approach in our care delivery, all of our providers make sure to screen patients for these and other heart risk factors, so we can treat them if necessary and prevent more serious heart issues down the road. That's what value-based care is all about - proactive care that leads to better health and patient outcomes. Thanks to our care teams for your creativity and enthusiasm setting these tables up! #americanheartmonth #valuebasedcare #heartdisease

In this Health of US Primary Care: 2025 Scorecard Report, the authors make it clear that to improve the health of patients in the US, we must first fix the problems with primary care--access, reimbursement, and more. Over the last several years, value-based care has been addressing many of the issues associated with primary care medicine. By focusing on care coordination and holistic, patient-centered care, providers are incentivized for delivering comprehensive preventive care and keeping people as healthy as possible. While there is still work to be done, there has been great progress so far. As value-based care continues to grow, we foresee an eventual boom in new primary care providers who choose this specialty to be able to practice medicine the way they always envisioned and dreamed they would. And happier, more satisfied healthcare providers lead to healthier patients and communities. #valuebasedcare #primarycare

February is home to some significant and meaningful observances, including Black History Month and American Heart Month. Today also happens to be Valentine’s Day—the quintessential day of the heart! ? As we recognize and celebrate these observances, it is hard to imagine where the field of cardiology would be without the groundbreaking contributions of Black clinicians, surgeons, scientists, and inventors over the years. ? One of those pioneers was Otis F. Boykin (1920-1982), an inventor instrumental in the development of a device used by 3 million people today—the pacemaker. Boykin created a control unit that more precisely regulated the pacemaker and greatly improved its function. ? Boykin is just one of countless Black Americans who overcame adversity and built a better healthcare system—and world—for future generations. We owe each of them a debt of gratitude, along with our commitment to continue championing diversity and inclusion in medicine, the workplace, and beyond. #blackhistorymonth #americanheartmonth #healthcare

The COVID pandemic has had long-lasting, far-reaching effects on the healthcare system. A recently published study found that, while primary care capabilities have improved since the pandemic, access to care has worsened. Specifically, there have been notable advancements in care delivery, but services like extended hours and same-day appointments have become increasingly scarce. Read more below or find the study here: https://lnkd.in/eEStw_P2
