So, we're sure that the 4 primary insights uncovered by a team of researchers, including Harvard economist David Deming, when researching trends in the past 100 years of the US labor market will validate what all of us in #telecom have noticed through firsthand experience. In Christy DeSmith's article on the team's research (https://lnkd.in/gX4KUfMi), Prof. Deming identifies 4 emerging trends in the U.S. job market: 1?? Starting in the late 2010s, the overall number of high-paid jobs have grown 2?? From 2010 - 2024, jobs in #STEM have increased by nearly 50% 3?? Circa 2019, Prof. Deming saw flat or declining employment in low-paid service work 4?? Between 2013 and 2023, retail sales jobs declined by 25% -- but the #ecommerce sector, "an early adopter of predictive AI, doubled its share of all retail sales since 2015."
