?? Meet our Innovation OnBoard UofT pitch competition contestant – Cartify! Created by Leandro Hamaguchi Brasil and Benjamim Chaves, Cartify is tackling one of the biggest frustrations in retail – long checkout lines. Their innovative app allows shoppers to scan items as they shop, pay, and go—no lines, no hardware. ?? ?? Where is Cartify Heading? Cartify is moving from validation to execution! With strong customer interest and early retailer engagement, their next step is to develop their MVP, focusing on small-basket grocery shopping in Toronto. ?? ?? How did the Pitch Competition help shape Cartify? From the founders: Pitching at the Innovation OnBoard competition was a pivotal moment for us. It was our first official presentation, and the feedback from judges and peers helped refine our vision. The competition also introduced us to a network of entrepreneurs and mentors, helping us uncover our unique “secret sauce.” ?? ?? Join Innovation OnBoard to launch your ideas too! ?? Last Thursday, CABHI and Baycrest Academy for Research and Education team members participated in the 2025 Innovation Fair, hosted by Innovation OnBoard UofT. This event brought together educators, industry leaders, innovators, and students to exchange insights and build meaningful connections to bring innovative ideas to life. It also provided U of T students the opportunity to showcase their innovative start-up ideas during a student showcase. CABHI's participation in events like this one aligns with our commitment to fostering capacity building and mentorship to accelerate innovation from idea to real-world impact, and the 2025 Innovation Fair helps realize that goal.
