Bold Prediction: In less than five years, Ben Bloom from Atom Computing will stand on a similar stage, much like Satya Nadella here today, announcing the first breakthrough material designed using Atom’s fault-tolerant quantum computer. The milestone announced today, bringing to market the world’s most powerful quantum machine in collaboration with Microsoft, is just the beginning. Together, we’re paving the way for real-world applications that will reshape industries and accelerate innovation.

Huge news out of Microsoft Ignite: Microsoft and Atom Computing announced another major breakthrough on the way to fault-tolerant quantum computing: the two teams entangled 24 logical qubits using neutral atoms held in place by lasers — the highest number of entangled logical qubits on record. In addition to this new record, the system can detect when one of the neutral atoms that make up a physical qubit disappears and repeatedly correct for that. TechCrunch shares more about these milestones and the plans to deliver commercial quantum computers in 2025 ??

In September, Microsoft announced its collaboration with Atom Computing to build the world’s most powerful quantum machine. Fast forward two months, and the teams have already shattered records by entangling 24 logical qubits — an incredible leap for quantum computing!
