We're with the winning team! ?? The crew of USS Gerald R. Ford (#CVN78), built by Newport News Shipbuilding, A Division of HII, was presented the 2024 Battenberg Cup during a ceremony aboard the aircraft carrier at Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Va., on September 30. #CVN78 was named the best all-around ship in the Atlantic Fleet after exhibiting superior battle efficiency throughout the 2023 calendar year, meeting the demanding requirements of a carrier strike group deployment to the U.S. Fifth and Sixth Fleet areas of operations. Since 1977, the Battenberg Cup award has been presented annually to a ship or submarine selected by the commander of the U.S. Fleet Forces Command based on crew achievements. On behalf of our shipbuilders who put in countless hours constructing this mighty carrier, we send congratulations to the Ford crew for their outstanding performance! ??: U.S. Fleet Forces Command
