What a weekend! Over 36 hours, we hosted over 70 participants and 20 volunteers at the FedEx Institute of Technology for the City Hackathon. #HackMemphis2024 I’m inspired and energized by the many talented individuals from diverse skills and backgrounds who came together to share their time and expertise to generate potential solutions to some of our city’s biggest civic challenges —blight, transportation, and improving government services. Special thanks to our expert speakers, workshop teachers, and coaches for providing technical support and insight to help guide the 14 teams. WOW - What a weekend it was at the 2024 City Hackathon! 70 hackers formed 14 teams to develop solutions to pressing civic challenges over 36 hours. Ideas ranged from AI assistants to help address non-emergency calls to ride coordination apps for employers to crowd-sourced blight data collection and remediation tools.
