Last week at Nordic Innovation House - Silicon Valley, we gathered experts from Lithuania, Finland, and Sweden for an inspiring Academic Meetup panel on Photonics. The discussion brought together industry leaders to explore the evolving global trends in photonics and examine how each country’s photonics ecosystem operates. Takeaways from the Panel: ?? Panelists from the Lithuanian, Finnish, and Swedish photonics industries shared their expertise and insights. ?? We explored emerging global trends in photonics and their impact on the industry. ?? Each country’s photonics landscape - its strengths, challenges, and opportunities - was discussed in depth. ?? A key focus was on enhancing collaboration between our three countries to drive innovation and industry growth. With over 50 attendees, the event highlighted the importance of international cooperation in pushing the boundaries of photonics research and commercialization.

It helps that nearly 1 in 3 Lithuanians graduate with STEM degrees! ????????resulting in talent spillover into software, biotech LithuaniaBIO & cybersecurity → Case in point: NordVPN, in close 2nd to the OG unicorn Vinted! ?? --- ?? A fintech powerhouse – Lithuania's government made smart, fintech-friendly regulatory moves, leading to 270 of ~1,000 startups being fintech-focused, ?being #1 in Europe in terms number of licensed electronic money and payment institutions in the EU?? --- ??
