  • Are you being intentional about teaching and mentoring others? In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, don’t leave your leadership to luck! We must teach and mentor others to help them find their passions and build their leadership toolbox and skill sets. Keep these tips and reminders in mind: ?? We can mentor anyone at any age. Talk about an article or a book that impacted you and be intentional about scheduling a time to share what you’ve learned. ?? Don’t stop mentoring no matter your age. We don’t stop being mentors so don’t stop being mentees. Regardless of where we are in our careers or even if you’re a retiree, be intentional about continuing to learn each day. ?? Sometimes we have to experience things and learn from those lessons. We also need people to push us out of our comfort zones. ?? Mentoring works both ways. When coming together, the blending of skills can be complementary and you’ll learn something new. When we are teaching, we are learning. Learn from others! ?? Be intentional about asking for advice and feedback. ?? Make choices around growing relationships. Leverage your relationships to teach and help people grow. Walk alongside technology and use it to your benefit. How are you making the choice to mentor and teach others? Share it with us. #leadership #mentoring #valuesbasedleadership

  • At the start of the New Year, we kicked off an exciting collaboration designing a program geared towards professionals new to the workforce. A group often overlooked for professional development, we were excited to co-create content for an audience eager to learn about themselves and each other. We believe that by providing young professionals with dedicated time to develop self-awareness, self-discipline, and career wellness, we can support well-rounded professionals with clear goals and confidence in their future. If your organization is interested in how we approach professional development to employees early in their career, please reach out to [email protected]. #leadership #professionaldevelopment #career #valuesbasedleadership

  • A look back at the February 2025 Session of Leadership Louisa where we discussed Receiving and Giving Feedback, heard from inspiring Louisa leaders and businesses and much more! We can't wait for the next one!

Leadership Louisa Class of 2025 – February Session Recap This month, the Leadership Louisa Class of 2025 convened at Louisa County High School for an in-depth session on Receiving and Giving Feedback, facilitated by Joel Morgan of InnerWill Leadership Institute. Participants explored best practices for constructive communication, equipping them with essential leadership tools to foster collaboration, engagement, and professional growth. In addition to leadership development, the class was introduced to their Community Action Project (CAP) Teams, where they will partner with Beautiful Brokenness, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Lake Anna Rescue, and LASER to address real-world challenges and support local initiatives. These projects will allow participants to apply their skills in meaningful ways, driving impact beyond the program itself. The session also featured an inspiring discussion with Superintendent J. Douglas Straley, who shared insights on leadership in education and its role in shaping Louisa County’s workforce and future. The day concluded with a visit to Equinox Growers, offering a firsthand look at local agriculture and sustainability efforts. Special thanks to AWS InCommunities, Rappahannock Electric Cooperative, and Walmart Distribution Center for their continued support in developing Louisa’s future leaders. We also appreciate Louisa County High School’s Culinary Arts students for providing an excellent lunch.
