At the start of the New Year, we kicked off an exciting collaboration designing a program geared towards professionals new to the workforce. A group often overlooked for professional development, we were excited to co-create content for an audience eager to learn about themselves and each other. We believe that by providing young professionals with dedicated time to develop self-awareness, self-discipline, and career wellness, we can support well-rounded professionals with clear goals and confidence in their future. If your organization is interested in how we approach professional development to employees early in their career, please reach out to [email protected]. #leadership #professionaldevelopment #career #valuesbasedleadership

A look back at the February 2025 Session of Leadership Louisa where we discussed Receiving and Giving Feedback, heard from inspiring Louisa leaders and businesses and much more! We can't wait for the next one!
Leadership Louisa Class of 2025 – February Session Recap This month, the Leadership Louisa Class of 2025 convened at Louisa County High School for an in-depth session on Receiving and Giving Feedback, facilitated by Joel Morgan of InnerWill Leadership Institute. Participants explored best practices for constructive communication, equipping them with essential leadership tools to foster collaboration, engagement, and professional growth. In addition to leadership development, the class was introduced to their Community Action Project (CAP) Teams, where they will partner with Beautiful Brokenness, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Lake Anna Rescue, and LASER to address real-world challenges and support local initiatives. These projects will allow participants to apply their skills in meaningful ways, driving impact beyond the program itself. The session also featured an inspiring discussion with Superintendent J. Douglas Straley, who shared insights on leadership in education and its role in shaping Louisa County’s workforce and future. The day concluded with a visit to Equinox Growers, offering a firsthand look at local agriculture and sustainability efforts. Special thanks to AWS InCommunities, Rappahannock Electric Cooperative, and Walmart Distribution Center for their continued support in developing Louisa’s future leaders. We also appreciate Louisa County High School’s Culinary Arts students for providing an excellent lunch.

Leading with love means seeking to understand someone else’s point of view and showing respect, courtesy and kindness; as well as acknowledging and affirming other people’s contributions. It also encompasses being open to new ideas and different perspectives while forgiving easily and quickly. So how do we get better at leading with love and kindness in the workplace? In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we have some valuable tips for you: 1?? Make the choice to be involved in things that are aligned with what is important to you. It’s easy to lead with love when an environment taps into your gifts and connects with your passions. 2?? Support and encourage your team’s dreams and aspirations, provide a clear path for their growth and development. Show up as your best self and inspire others to be their best, as well. Care as much about the people with whom we work as we do about the work we do. 3?? Be intentional about thinking of others more than yourself. Diagnose and adapt to others’ style and values; speak in words that honor their perspectives, goals and objectives.? 4?? Come to your role as a leader who brings all of yourself to every situation. We are a combination of our experiences, our values and our interactions. To be authentically leading with love, we must bring all of the things that make us who we are and we must bring the things we are passionate about. So, how do you lead with love? Share your top strategies with us! #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #valuesbasedleadership

We’re thrilled to partner with The Point Church on core values and team effectiveness.?Carla Ruiz, PCC is facilitating this multi-session partnership with their team. In our first session, they were introduced to the concept and practices of Values Based Leadership, using visual images in addition to personal core values exercises. We spoke about Emotional Intelligence through the lens of our practices of Build(ing) Awareness, Develop(ing) Relationships and Practice (Practicing) Reflection. Throughout the session, we discussed how Values Based Leadership reinforces/supports their Mission, Vision, and Values. Finally, we discussed tangible ways of integrating their learning within normal workdays so they could leave the session and put into practice something they learned in the workshop! We’re looking forward to meeting with this incredible team again! #leadership #valuesbasedleadership #corevalues

Two teams will take the field on the world’s greatest stage this weekend in New Orleans for the ‘Big Game.’ ?? And while we may not be televised across the globe, as leaders we are always on stage, too. People watch us. They listen to us. They pay attention to what we do. Like it or not, when you’re on stage you’re always leading by example. As Warren Buffet once said, “It takes 20 years to build a reputation and 5 minutes to ruin it.” 1?? So what’s the first step to ensuring that doesn’t happen? Whether you are a professional athlete or a business leader, step one is to decide how you want to be seen. What do you want other people to say about you? How do you want them to feel about you? What kind of impact do you want to have? 2?? Step two is consistently acting on your values, in all parts of your life. When you are inauthentic in one environment, it shows. If you aren’t clear on your values, pause and reset. Consider asking for feedback and be willing to listen to the examples people share. World-class leaders are made the same way star NFL players are. You practice all the time and work at it without end. You learn from failure and you never stop looking for all the ways you can be better. #leadership #valuesbasedleadership
