My Atari was THE pinnacle of tech when I was 14. Surely, nothing would ever be better. Right? Hmmm... Cast your mind back to your 14-year-old self - and remember the tech that you thought was world-changing to you back then - until it was replaced by something so amazing that the "old" thing was put on a closet shelf for later (or as a "spare")...and then 20 or 30 years later you still have it, "just in case". HA! Today's technology is just a practice run at what's to come. If you're reading this and have young kids, or you're thinking about having kids, then what YOU think is hot tech today will be just laughable to them 20 years from now. What YOU think are insurmountable business problems today will have been solved by technology by the time you get your AARP card (now at just 50 years old!). What YOU make your living in today will be replaced by unfathomable new technologies, and probably well before you're ready for them to retire you. MY POINT TODAY? You'll end up on the trash heap of naysayers who've found themselves both redundant - and poor - if you resist this progress. The ONLY way forward is to be willing to rip and replace technology as each giant leap is made available to you. Otherwise...there's always your Atari "Video Computer System" to keep you occupied (I think it's in the closet...top shelf. ??) Keep inventing.
