So many social platforms, so little time. With that in mind, how can you determine which social platforms are actually worth your time, and which ones are better left out of your strategy? Our Manager of Digital Content Strategy, Jayde Umemba, shares some thoughts ??
TL;DR - Not every platform is worth your time—just because it exists doesn’t mean you have to be on it. When it comes to establishing a presence on a ? new ? social media platform, being first isn't always necessarily the best approach. Before jumping on the next big thing, ask yourself: Are you maximizing your current platforms? ? Consistent posting cadence ? Steady flow of quality content ? Active community management ? Genuine engagement ? Deep understanding of your audience ? Content tailored to platform best practices Is this new platform the right move? ? Is your audience actually there? ? Do you (or your team) have the bandwidth to manage it effectively? It’s tempting to chase the next big thing out of fear of missing out. No one wants to feel like they’re swimming after a ship that’s already sailed. But here’s the truth:?quality content and strong community building will drive engagement—whether you're an early adopter or a laggard. Early adoption isn’t always a?no, but don’t feel pressured to be “everything everywhere all at once.” Instead, focus on where you can create real impact, not just where the hype is.
