I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Vice President - Marketing & eCommerce at Inked Brands!

I’m so excited to share that I will be joining Inked Brands as a Wholesale Sales Coordinator! I’m deeply grateful to Chick-fil-A Restaurants for the remarkable journey and the invaluable experiences that have shaped my career to this point. While I technically worked at Chick-fil-A for eight years, it has been a part of my life every day since I was two years old. I’ll be forever thankful for the lessons, skills, and memories accumulated over the years. This company has truly had a major impact on who I am today. When I moved to Bowling Green, I had no idea what would come next—a new city, a new routine, and a new stage of life. I’m so thankful for all the new friends and connections I’ve made during this process of finding a job. I would like to give a special thanks to Mercedes O’Daniel and Jessica Morrison for being so wonderful throughout this process. THANK YOU to everyone who has been involved in my professional journey. “What I love about Western is it gave me the connections and the ideas to get started in this area,” said April Foster (‘02), CEO and Founder of Inked Brands. The first step in Foster’s entrepreneurial journey began when she audited classes in the Corporate Communication Department at WKU, which later led to her finding a passion for sales. In 2007, Foster followed that passion and founded her first company: Studio Calico, a business focused on selling scrapbook supplies. In the process, she learned that “what we had built wasn’t just applicable to scrapbook supplies, it could be applied to a lot of other businesses, usually female-founded but specifically ones that were led by people who have incredible creative talent, but weren’t as passionate about the business side like I was,” Foster said. “And, so I said ‘Oh we have this infrastructure that we can apply to a bunch of different small brands. So, then we opened up the gates.’” In 2012, Foster added her first partnerships – ultimately leading to the establishment of Inked Brands, a company that helps small businesses share their products with a broader audience. With a portfolio that includes Pippi Post, Callie Danielle, Ali Edwards, Studio Calico, Paper Farm Press, 1 Canoe 2, Heidi Swapp, Camp Castle, and Church Notes, the company assists a variety of brands with marketing, customer service, and business expertise.
