Today, INIT brought together four of our amazing chapters - INIT FIU, INIT MDC Kendall, INIT MDC North, and INIT MDC Wolfson - for an inspiring meetup! ?? INIT's mission is to empower college students to land careers in tech, and it’s moments like these that fuel the impact we’re making. This meetup was all about?collaboration and growth for our chapters across Miami Dade College and Florida International University - sharing strategies to build stronger communities, run impactful programs, and help more students break into tech ?? Both chapters walked away with actionable takeaways to bring back to their schools and amplify their efforts. The future of tech is bright, and it’s being shaped by leaders like these in Miami! ?? Last week, a group of our incredibly passionate and engaged alumni from Florida International University - College of Engineering & Computing toured our cutting-edge #InnovationComplex. But what makes this visit even more special is the story of their journey and unwavering commitment to giving back. While at FIU, these forward-thinking students founded what would become INIT FIU, a student organization with a clear mission: to equip graduates with the computer and technology skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive workplace. They didn’t just stop there. After graduating, this same group expanded their vision beyond campus walls by creating?INIT National, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals across the #SouthFlorida region with essential #TechSkills and #CareerReadiness resources. They did this while working full-time for top tech companies like Microsoft, Amex, Citi, Google and more. Now, as alumni, they’re coming full circle, exploring ways to collaborate with FIU in our Innovation Complex to create programs that will shape the future of #Technology, #HigherEducation, and #CommunityImpact. We’re so proud to see FIU alumni embodying the spirit of innovation and community engagement. Also grateful to be joined by soon-to-be alum, David Ulloa as he passes the torch of presidency of INIT FIU and joins the permanent ranks of INIT National.
