    ?? Meet Yousra Farhani, a Quantum Machine Learning and Optimization Researcher from Algeria and this week’s Ingenii Community Spotlight! ???? ?? From a young age, Yousra’s love for technology and physics sparked a deep commitment to quantum computing. This dual passion has led her to a Master’s program at The Higher National School of Computer Science, ESI Algiers, and a Research Internship in Quantum Optimization at the National Institute of Applied Sciences of Lyon. Yousra’s research spans across institutions and companies, including QWorld, where she contributes to advancements in quantum optimization. ?? Driven to expand quantum knowledge across Africa, Yousra founded Quantum Africa, an organization devoted to educational and collaborative initiatives in the field. Her dedication was recently honored through the 2024 Quantum Rising Star Award for Women in Quantum and the Arab Young Pioneers 2024 Award in Quantum, highlighting her impact in the African and Middle Eastern quantum communities. ?? Yousra’s competitive spirit and innovation have brought her numerous accolades, including wins at the NYUAD Hackathon, qBraid Hack, and @MITQ Hackathon. Her recent publication at GECCO'24 (The Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference) showcases her groundbreaking work on a novel QUBO formulation for FlowShop Scheduling, leveraging the D-Wave Quantum Annealer. ?? Outside of her work and studies, Yousra is a digital artist and fashion designer, a book lover, and a devoted cat fan. Her creativity and curiosity extend well beyond quantum computing! ??
