People often ask me what has InfoWorks, Inc. learned over the past 27 years while deeply engaged with the business of healthcare, specifically working to solve key challenges in cost, quality, and accessibility of care and data?? Our goal has Always Been to shepherd the ability, AT SCALE, to easily move and share patient health information across different healthcare providers, systems, and locations.?You may have heard this called solving for longitudinal data in the continuum of care.?It’s truly is one of those silver bullet issues (like workforce shortages), a real rate limiting factor of mitigating waste in the industry while promoting better decision-making, more coordinated care, and improved outcomes for our people and families. Most of this is addressed at #Sessions2024 #TheHealthcareCity, and the good news is that there is a TON of energy and capital going into people, process, and tools to slowly, methodically move through these issues. My team blocks & tackles through these key HC issues: Interoperability and the limits the industry and its tech have in sharing patient data across myriad of providers and organizations. Data standardization and the lack of uniform data standards that make it challenging to aggregate and analyze meaningful population health insights. This means DATA Quality and Data COMPLETENESS User experience of tech systems, complex processes, and data quality that cause RISK and inhibit REAL change. Data privacy, governance, law, and security in a heavily regulated and complex system. Implementation costs, workflow disruption, and adoption barriers for EHR systems and foundational tech infrastructure that it sits on Integration of SDoH social determinants of health Incorporating non-medical factors that influence health outcome into systems and data repositories. Our HR team, Margot Williams, SHRM-CP and Andrea Yanicky, went on a shopping spree for health conscious prizes to give away in a raffle where everyone was a winner.
