?? ITI’s EU policy experts have a clear vision on how the global tech industry and its stakeholders should engage on tech policy opportunities and challenges impacting the #EU. ? In that vision, ITI makes it clear that AI, cybersecurity and sustainability must be a key focus for the European Union in the upcoming mandate. Not just for the sake of Europe’s security and competitiveness, but also to ensure the growth and innovation that businesses and consumers desire. ? To further outline the importance of these pathways for Europe’s digital future, ITI published three #Vision2030 spin off documents that delve deeper into the essential policy actions needed to build a competitive, resilient, and innovative EU. Here’s a closer look at what each document covers: ? ?? AI: ITI’s spin-off on AI policy focuses on setting the EU up for success in implementing the AI Act. This includes promoting Single Market cohesion, establishing a transparent AI Office for industry collaboration, and building international partnerships for regulatory alignment. Additionally, the document underscores the need for digital skills development and data flow policies to drive AI innovation across sectors: https://lnkd.in/eUXbfKmQ ? ?? Cybersecurity: To tackle Europe’s growing cyber challenges, ITI’s cybersecurity spin off advocates for unified and practical implementation of the EU’s cybersecurity frameworks. Recommendations include centralizing cybersecurity efforts, expanding ENISA’s mandate, and fostering a workforce skilled in cutting-edge defenses like post-quantum cryptography. ITI also emphasizes the value of global collaboration on cybersecurity standards to create an inclusive, resilient digital ecosystem: https://lnkd.in/eDY7g2eg ? ?? Sustainability: ITI’s sustainability spin off explores the role of tech in accelerating the EU’s sustainability goals. In the document, ITI calls for public-private partnerships, streamlined regulation to support circular economies, and improved indicators for measuring ICT sector sustainability. By combating greenwashing and harmonizing standards, ITI envisions a regulatory landscape that leverages technology to drive sustainable growth across Europe: https://lnkd.in/e5fTZQA6

Great to join Dell Technologies today for the #DellTechnologiesForum Brussels 2024. I had the pleasure to moderate a phenomenal panel discussion on how #EU policy can support #AI innovation and Europe’s competitiveness featuring Alberto M. from NVIDIA, Orla O’Hannaidh from Red Hat and Dell’s CTO for Western Europe Tom Olislagers. Thanks also to Michael McNamara MEP - co chair of the European Parliament intergroup on the AI Act - for joining us and delivering closing remarks. Panelists shared great insights on the key enablers for AI innovation (such as skills and infrastructure), the need for an agile regulatory framework, and the importance of collaboration between different actors in the ecosystem to unlock AI innovation across several industry verticals. Lots of food for thought for the future of EU AI policy! Thanks again to John McManus for the phenomenal organization!
