Does your organization have a data recovery plan? Have you tested it? Far too many organizations loose data because their backups are either non-existent, or their plan data recovery plan was not as useful as they thought. I spoke to the Harrisburg affiliate of #abcnews about a Pennsylvania state agency losing data related to State Police Evidence logs and employee pension program information after an employee negligently wiped an entire server. While I do not have any insight to exactly what happened, I am going to go out on a limb and say that they never tested their data recovery plan.
