?? A Day of Service: Volunteering at TAMU Big Event ?? This past weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at the TAMU Big Event, a tradition that brings together thousands of Aggies to serve the local community. This event is about embodying the core values Texas A&M instills in its students, including Selfless Service. I had the chance to participate in one of the most fulfilling projects: helping a family assemble a playset for their kids. The joy and gratitude on their faces when the playset was complete was priceless. Our team of five Aggies (Aung Khant Nyar, Poorav Desai, Srivatsan Govindarajan, Gaurav Arora) worked together to assemble this playset from scratch, and it was amazing to see how my skills could be applied in such a hands-on and impactful way. From organizing materials efficiently to managing the assembly process, it was a fulfilling experience. ?? Putting Engineering Skills to Work: One key takeaway from this experience was seeing the real-world application of problem-solving and team coordination in action. While we didn’t have high-tech equipment, we made do with what we had - tools, patience, and communication. My background in Production Engineering helped me approach the task methodically, ensuring the playset was safely assembled. ?? Teamwork in Action: It was inspiring to work alongside such dedicated individuals. We came from different academic backgrounds but shared a common goal: to make a positive impact. The teamwork involved in this project taught me invaluable lessons in collaboration, time management, and adaptability. ?? TAMU Selfless Service: This experience reinforced the importance of selfless service. It reminded me that the impact we make isn’t just about personal success; it’s about making a difference in the lives of others. I’m incredibly proud to be part of an institution that fosters such a culture of giving. ?? A Lasting Impact: I feel inspired and motivated to continue seeking opportunities to make a difference. Whether through volunteering or applying the lessons I’ve learned in my studies, I am committed to contributing to a better world. Thank you to everyone who was part of the TAMU Big Event. The sense of purpose and fulfillment that comes from serving others is something I will carry with me throughout my career and life. #BigEvent #SelflessService #AggieSpirit #CommunityImpact #TAMU #Volunteering #AggiePride #ServiceLearning

?? Serving, Learning, and Growing – The Big Event 2025! ?? This weekend, I had the privilege of participating in The Big Event 2025 at Texas A&M University—an experience that truly embodies the Aggie spirit of selfless service. Alongside over 17,000 fellow Aggies, I spent the day giving back to the Bryan-College Station community, tackling everything from landscaping and planting to heavy lifting and home maintenance. I was especially proud to be part of this initiative through Indian Graduate Students Association, which had the largest graduate student participation in The Big Event this year! Special mentions : Kathan Vyas, Haet Kothari Saumya Patel Sushanth Badareesh Mullangi Harsh Sachin Gangwal What made this experience special wasn’t just the work we did, but the connections we built along the way. Seeing the smiles on residents’ faces, working as a team, and feeling the collective energy of thousands of students united for a cause—it was truly humbling. The Big Event is more than just a day of service; it’s a tradition that reminds us that small acts of kindness can leave a lasting impact. Looking forward to carrying this spirit forward and continuing to give back in any way I can! #ServingWithPurpose #TheBigEvent #AggieSpirit #SelflessService #TAMU #GivingBack #CommunityImpact #Volunteer #IGSA #AggiesGiveBack
