We are looking for a professional in Product Development Engineer, creates innovative air spring products to maintain technological leadership, improve existing designs, increase performance, or reduce cost.
Main requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in engineering
· Minimum 2 years experience in product design, transportation products design experience is preferred
· Ability to travel on average 20% including international destinations
· Experience with rubber industry products and processes is preferred
· Highly proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
· Demonstrated project management skills including the ability to influence, lead, and manage
· Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to present complex information to customers, suppliers, and at all levels of the company organization
· Must be fluent in English language speaking, reading, and writing; Spanish language skills are preferred
· Experience with Microsoft office products Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project.
· Knowledge of IATF 16949 & ISO 14001 standards and core quality tools APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Some activities:
· Lead cross-functional teams to execute product development projects from award through production launch
· Oversee 3-4 major projects concurrently of varying sizes and complexities
· Manage projects to meet objectives providing monthly metrics for schedule, capital investment, and margin
· Organize and lead scheduled project gate review meetings
· Conduct design review meetings and action items for follow-up
· Create and maintain accurate prototype and product specifications
· Create/maintain product launch documentation (design objectives, customer/benchmarking/vendor notes, 3D CAD models & drawings, ECO’s, testing regimen & results, dimensional data, DFMEA, documents supporting PPAP package)
· Use PPAP, FMEA, Cpk, gage R&R, critical characteristics
· Participate in 8D problem solving methodology
· Create 3D models and 2D drawings (SolidWorks)
